Even though I didn't like his direction in the first movie. I sorta feel sorry for Coogler. Disney and Marvel put out a LIE that he was responsible for T'Challa not being recast so he can take the heat, as if Disney shareholders and Marvel execs would put that decision in the hands of a damn director :mjlol::duck:

Oh for sure. I saw Nate Moore saying they let Coogler, decide what he wanted to do. Which is probably a crock of shyt.

I highly doubt Feige/Disney is going to allow any director that kind of power especially on sequel to a billion dollar movie.

Why are yall talking about Blade? :dahell:

Cause Tchalla...the once black, masculine fictional character is now emasculated to the point of being written out of existence. So we need a black, masculine fictional character to follow until they emasculate him too.

Such a clviscious cycle when you dont own shyt.

Smh. If only we had a Billionaire filmmaker with his own studio and studio grounds to use his resources and create for us....if only he existed...

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Yea I don't understand why they didn't recast. I don't think the general audience really would've cared. I mean we had to believe that, Val kilmers batman, was the exact same version as Michael Keatons, then we had to believe that Clooneys batman was the exact same one as kilmers, which was essentially keaton:russ: I mean shyts been done before. It isn't new. Marvel fukked up.
Who the hell wanted to see them make a Black Panther franchise about T'Challa's son? :what:

This would be like The Boys tv show writing out Anthony Star's Homelander and replacing him with his son after season 2 :mjlol:

They handed Coogler the reigns the first time. That movie did numbers that no other solo hero film did unless they had about 6 other heroes in it.

All the sudden we get locked down for Covid, the movie is delayed, and out of nowhere Boseman dies.. Nobody was in a rush to hear "and now playing Black Panther will be........." Nobody wanted to hear "we're going to go ahead and delay this another 5 years while we wait" They had to both tell everyone everything was going to be fine in Wakanda, and also not have people screaming "fukk you. y'all just moved on. You wouldn't do this if RDJ died all the sudden"

It's like either choice was going to fukk them up. I can DEFINITELY see Disney saying... "Let him fukk it up. It's good, we win. It's bad, we blame him" :hubie:

I think because it would have come off as incredibly disrespectful.

Like hey guys we know Chadwick is gone but we replaced him with this guy.

Meet the new T'Challa.....

And it's some random Black actor trying to fill Chadwick's shoes. People would have flipped out.

And when Heath Ledger was gone, Nolan didn't recast him but moved on to Bane as the new villain for Dark Knight Rises.

So they probably used that as a guide for what to do.

Now if the leaks are true and he had a son then this movie will be a bridge to that and in the next movie they'll hand control of Wakanda off to him.

I don’t think they’re ever gonna make a Blade movie breh. A lot of Marvel projects are turning into No Limit album future “releases” Yeah you might see the logo in another artists album and there’s cover art floating around but that shyt is never hitting the shelf :mjlol:

It’s a shame cause they botched a perfect setup in MoM. Should’ve had the Darkhold get broken and pages get scattered. Demons start using the pages to make soul-stealing deals with unsuspecting people to power up Cthon. Problem is too wide spread for Dr. Strange to handle alone and sorcerer society is trying to rebuild after MoM so Strange gets his Nick Fury on and recruits a group of supernaturally inclined heroes (Ghostrider, Moon Knight, Black Knight, Blade, maybe even a depowered and trying to make amends Wanda). It’d be pure fukkery, Blade has an urge to kill everything Supernatural so he’s trying not to murk them all, Ghostrider wants to murk Wanda for her sins, Black Knight trying not to go crazy from his sword, and Moon Knight already being well past crazy with Khonshu in the cut with an alterior motive.

Feige - book that shyt too

MARVEL/DISNEY HIRE THIS MAN :damn:

I think the ideas most fans have of what the movie should be is better than the actual movies as of late. It feels like these exact plots in the quoted post get mentioned in the brainstorming process but somehow they dont do it cause somebody involved says its too "predictable" :aicmon: and Disney go with some hackneyed subverting expectations plot that dosent make much sense sometimes.

i didn’t know blade was supposed to be a superhero until recently :yeshrug: , shyt felt like a random Wesley snipes fighting vampires flick, I didn’t enjoy the first and never saw the sequels…blade ain’t hit no where near where black panther did as far as establishing a tier one black superhero. storm was the only other but they made her a second or third thought in the movies compared to her in the early 90’s comics and cartoon
Damn sweetheart..this is blasphemous smh...blade 1 and 2 are classics

I could be reaching but given what the current climate was around that time(2020) blacks were looking at white owned companies sideways. Most people's mindsets would definitely pulled a race card narrative had they recasted T'Challa soo soon.
