It’s because twitter is mostly black women who really just want to see a woman as black panther
Exactly black women have more social media influence and disposable income so why wouldn’t they cater to them

:unimpressed:

It’ll probably be praised as being a brave decision to make Shuri the ruler of Wakanda and the BP.

Marvel fans dont wanna hear it. But where is the #SnyderCut like fandom to get this shyt changed. :jbhmm:

And lets not even make it about fandom. Black people can cause change when we come together.

They got pictures of Riri Williams on set.

Where are the black people who want to call Marvel out on disregarding T'Challa. Should be black folks on IG live calling out how they are trying to wipe away what Boseman created. I cant believe its been this long and still quiet on twitter about what they are doing to the franchise. Got damn Sonic fans made a company step back.

Because then you will be a black man trying to stop a black woman from shining. Plus what will you stand on since Shuri does become black Panther in the comics?
So you really can't say there is no precedent for it happening.Basically nikkas is too scared and white boys are even more scary as they should be:ufdup:. Twitter is like Wakanda post Tchalla, black women run that:wow:.

The role isn't getting re-cast right now but by the time they start on Black Panther 3 they will have found the new T'Challa.
Fiege is just trying to let enough time pass to be a buffer for people's feelings.

Are you saying you think they will reboot? Or you think Shuri is just taking over temporarily? And they will later have Tchalla return recast as someone else? I'm not mad overall,I guess little black girls will get their turn to have a powerful female hero like black boys did last time. I'm just disappointed we won't get to see growth of the character. Hopefully Shuri is a lot more hardcore than Tchallas soft ass was. I bet you cacs had something to do with Tchallas death if I was a betting man:mjpls:

How would a recast fukk up continuity? How would passing on the mantle be an example of continuity? A new actor as T'Challa means nothing, but a new actor. It's still T'Challa.

There is no choice from the first movie for which passing on the mantle makes sense. MCU Shuri is not a great fighter, a great leader, and doesn't want it. The specifically created her to not be a threat to the BP mantle. You basically have to tell a complete story to change her trajectory to want it, train her as a leader and a fighter. In the comics, Shuri was ONLY created to vie for that mantle. From the gate, her purpose was that of someone that wanted the throne, and thought she could do a better (or just as good as T'Challa).

People want to see T'Challa. He's barely had a story so far. The only one with less of a story is Strange, and it's obvious they have no clue what to do with him.
I didn't even want to speak ill of the dead, but I don't really think Chadwick was that good as Black Panther that he couldn't be recasted. I was thinking maybe they made the wrong choice while he was still alive. Lets not forget he got outshined by Killmonger. This is just a result of social media, the algorithms showed people didn't want him recasted. Black women run black twitter,so that's no surprise.

Hold up,are you going to pretend like we didn't see 3 different Panthers because 2 "died" in the movies? Chadwick didn't die in the movie,he died in real life. What the hell you talking about pass the mantle:laff:

If he wasn't written to die in the movie, they can keep it pushing. Chadwick took the role knowing he could potentially die,do I don't think he would be upset with them doing what they needed to do in his absence. The show must go on.

Killmonger could do it by your logic, since he was actually more loved than Chadwick in the last film if we keep it a buck. Either way I feel bad for all the hatred Shuri is about to get from fans and angry black men. IF the last movie bought out love this one will bring out hate,it will be a shyt show:francis:

truth be told if they weren't gonna recast then they shouldn't even have bothered making a new one

Kinda true, and they will probably say the new movie is to honor his memory. If continuing the franchise is honoring him,not sure why recasting him would have been an insult as opposed to killing off a character he cared about. They felt the pressure and caved simple as that. There were women talking about Shuri eventually taking the mantle after Chadwick while Chadwick was still alive lol.So to be so pro woman and inclusive as the MCU has been, hard to go another route when that expectation already existed. They should have just made an announcement for a Storm film, the same day they released news of Chadwicks recasting:lolbron:

I’m a bit reluctant to be excited about this based on what the rumors are saying, but I will keep a open mind and honestly let’s see where they go with it.
:yeshrug:

Anything else is just going to make me feel miserable over something that is supposed to be fun and I haven’t even seen yet.

Shuri becoming the new BP would’ve made more sense if she didn’t get blipped and instead spent that time training to be a warrior. But considering she did get blipped, I don’t see how we go from the CW/IW version of her almost directly into being Black Panther. Especially to go up against Namor and his army.

On the contrary, I don’t see why Riri & Shuri can’t coexist as two geniuses. If Tony Stark & Bruce Banner could, why can’t they?
