To be honest i thought that reviewer/youtuber was you few days ago. Although It's not you its good to see it gain mass media traction.
Good thing its not gonna work though. Ya'll are literally petitioning to ruin the future of the black panther franchise. Recasting him will not go over well. Better the john walker the character and make someone else black panther. (which you would be doing anyway by recasting)
But this way people won't be offended or disappointed by a shytty chadwick impression and instead continue the legacy of Black Panther as a franchise, instead of focusing on trying to make another chadwick like ya'll misguided petitioners.

So you'd rather T'Challa be no more? Recasting doesn't have to do a Chadwick impersonation. It's not liek Chadwick was so mindblowing in that movie, he was more characterized in Civil War...which not everyone who saw BP saw.

Exactly, no disrespect to Chadwick but his character was much better in Civil war than in later movies. I remember people complaining that his character was water down in his own movie because he was being overshadowed by nearly all of the supporting characters.

I see where you're coming from
But John Walker was purposely pickled to be a bad cap replacement from the story, actor, and plot

Yes, i'd rather they save all the recasting for reboots. If this is the same continuity, they should just pass the mantle.
if he had only been a side character in one movie, it would be one thing. but he was in four movies and starred in one. was probably only going to appear in two more movies before passing the reigns to shuri anyway.(marvel confirmed this) why recast only to retire him in 4 hours of movie time later? just pass the reigns to shuri slightly ahead of time. let chadwicks version of t'challa be the canon for this continuity.

Make a Luke Cage movie and Blade in the meantime for this continuity. boom everybody gets what they want.

Performance aside, if it was really about honoring Chadwick, they'd have just retired the franchise/no sequels. But this idea of picking and choosing what "Chadwick would've wanted" (the franchise continuing) and what he wouldn't have wanted ("recasting" his role) is just juelizin in the highest order. Actin like they know what he'd have wanted.

Ironically, Chadwick's own brother Derrick is in favor of recasting and called out Hollywood on their bullshyt narrative for why the character shouldn't be recast.

I don’t get it. So he wants his brother recast? He also was king for like three or so movies overall. Plus we just got a black captain america

Ok then I’m just going to say it
I want the next black panther to be a black man :yeshrug:
Me too, low key not a fan of shuri as black panther, plus having a woman black panther seems like a catwoman knockoff.. But i'm not a fan of recasting either. between both i'd rather have shuri though, but if they write a good story where someone else takes the throne i'd be happy with that.

It's not even about honoring chadwick or hollywood politics to me. Recasting just makes the movies with former actors seem like noncanon.
New actors always bring new ideas and new character traits to the role. Banner for example struggles with anger, serious acting in incredible hulk. Next time you see him he's always smirking and smiley and goofy. No longer gets angry at all. Completely different takes on the character to point where it feels like they rebooted the character. Black Panther doesn't need a reboot. You can easily just have another black man put on the suit in the same continuity. MCU is only property we have ever had they really cares about canon, and ya'll about to ruin it. Without canon there is no longer anything special about this being a connected series. It'll just turn in the dceu. 8 different jokers each movie being a standalone unrelated to the next.

I see your point, but not every recast suggests reboot. TV & movies does it all of the time. All of the time, the actors may not be available for the sequel, so you just recast if you can't make scheduling arrangements. If I'm watching something and it's a different actor for the same character, I just accept it. And just because the character isn't recast doesn't mean that the sequel doesn't still manage to take on an entirely different tone. hell, even in the MCU Winter Soldier & Civil War have a different feel than The First Avenger. Ragnarok is far different from Thor. Black Panther is just as much about T'Challa as it is the mantle.

If i were Disney, i would've continued with me OG plan of the new trio being Captain Marvel, Black Panther and Spider-Man. They may lose Spidey though, and BP is up in the air, so that leaves Captain Marvel solo. Yeah...that ain't gonna work.
