It's gonna be all about finding a successor now. It sounds like Coogler probably rewrote this to be a more lowkey, somber and poignant film. It's not going to be the epic, bigger scope sequel that we thought it was going to be before Chadwick's passing.

If this turns out to be the case, I'm not sure how audiences will take it even though most will probably understand the reasoning.

Yea cant have that closed in feeling.

Despite no precedence in the comics for it I want Lupita to be the next Black Panther. Her character and more importantly the actress is actually perfect.
But I'm going in with an open mind regards to the mantle. I just want a good movie that's respectful to Chadwick regardless of who is or how they handle the passing of the mantle.

If there is someone that is to become one yeah. All the things people agreed with killmonger about She did too with a vastly better approach. Plus she an experienced warrior

Feige and Coogler need to just man up and recast the role once BP 3 goes into production cuz the series and even the MCU as a whole won’t be the same at all without T’Challa in it.

The character was just barely getting started and it’s not right to put an end to him that quickly. I’m sure even Boseman would of wanted another young Black male actor to take up the role cuz he knew how important the character was to Black people worldwide.:francis:
What difference would make, it's still a new actor in the suit regardless. Why call him t'challa, call him t'chenka or some shyt. Say he is a new black panther. T'challa's cousin. End result is the same, only difference the new actor can make his own identity like John Walker did as new Cap, instead of doing a chadwick impression for two movies that people won't like.

There is literally no point in recasting. You are using a new actor regardless and Black Panther is a title passed from warrior to warrior. Just pass it to another warrior and keep going.

That's what I've been saying this whole time :mindblown:

Ain't no replacing T'Challa. Boseman owned that character, and no matter who theh would've gotten to recast, it wouldn't have been the same character.

And any attenpt @ a Chadwick impression would be off-putting and probably not entirely respectful.

There are actual Marvel characters that become black panther outside of t'challa.
Killmonger was Black panther in the first movie
T'Chaka was too.
obviously you shouldn't bring them back But you literally had 3 black panthers plus a failed challenger in mbaku in the first movie alone. Why can't they do the same in the next one?

and all of these people were also black panther at points in the comics.
Shuri
Storm become a version of black panther once
S'yan ( dude who challenged t'challa and became black panther)
Azzuri was black panther during ww2, you could easily update his backstory
K' shamba was black panther in a future timeline
Azari the son of T'challa became black panther at one point

T'challa is just the main notable one, like Peter Parker is to spiderman. If Tom Holland died i would want them to focus on Mile Morales, not recast Tom holland.

Plus it wouldn't even take a reach storywise to explain why he is gone. Just say in his 5 year absence Shuri became black Panther. because they thought he was dead.
When he returned post blip, he elected not to kill his sister in ritual combat to get his title back, boom, now he's retired like steve rogers.

I need locations the green screen thing is a massive distraction to me in comic films :damn::damn::damn::damn::damn:
Yeah, the green screen part hurt the first one more than it helped it, especially for the scenes where we were supposed to marvel at the beauty of the Wakandan landscape.

For example, Killmonger's death laying his eyes on the Wakandan horizon would have felt more powerful if there had been a physical sense he was present there.

This is disingenuous. most of those people were BP for like an issue tops bar shuri and Killmonger

T'challa=BP because it's a mantle it doesn't really change that
