Sooooo T'Challa is gone for the for good in live action and possibly the comics will follow suit (Marvel loves synergy). Next BP will probably be female as this gives Marvel a perfect opportunity to have a Black woman lead a film in the MCU which hasn't happened as of yet. Possibly Okoye or Nakia.

Biggest thing I'm taking away from this is that Coogler has to scrap what he's been working on and rewrite the script. This is not good as I'm betting the idea/concept he had before Chadwick's tragic passing was stronger than what he will probably come up with in the wake. We'll see, but I'm less excited about this now. If they wanted to expand the world of Wakanda then they should have made a tv show.

they arent getting rid of tchalla in the comics. if anything theyll give him the man without fear treatment while whatever character gets the bp stimulus

Naw they wont do that...

However, no BP really makes it seem like a Disney+ show

Chad really should have said something to Marvel :mjcry:

50 years on Mythos down the drain because of fear of public outcry.

I’m not going to EVER fault Chadwick. The man was dealing with a life threatening disease and STILL acted his ass off and brought T’Challa to life in a way that was truly iconic. His private health affairs are just that. HIS affairs and I respect his right to be silent on the matter.

This is 100% on Kevin Feige and not wanting the criticism. Its a shame because T’Challa probably won’t be rebooted for at least 5-6 years, robbing us of what could have still been a classic trilogy of films. I feel bad for Ryan Coogler, whose original vision has to be altered.

Gone in the comics would be a bad idea

Tweet makes me wonder if the BP2 is going to take place after the snap when T'Challa is presumed dead. That way the film would be structured as a mourning of T'Challa in universe and the meta commentary would be about the mourning of Chadwick. Then plot wise they could tell the story of what happened in Wakanda during the 5 years where they had no Black Panther.

Then in a future film, like BP3 where Coogler may not be involved, it could take place after end game and possibly feature a recasted T'Challa.

It's a thought, though the counter is that Shuri was also gone after the snap, so the story would basically just consist of Okoye, Nakia, and M'Baku, in world we already know gets reversed, and that probably wouldn't be a worthy enough follow up to one of the biggest blockbusters of all time.

there's no "blame"

Just saying this is the results. Its like when people dont leave a will behind it leaves everything up to be re-evaluated.

I wish before he left us Chadwick would have said something about another black actor getting to carry on the stories of T 'Challa

Yea Chad is the man but this always ticked me off about the whole situation.

Now all this hard work down the drain.

You can't leave it up to corporate white people to do right by a black male character.

The pressure that M'Baku and Shuri actors about to get. I like them but no way they can carry a whole movie like that.

:whoo:

I can already see that they'll probably insert a bigger white actor to bring bums to seats.
This is the darkest timeline.

I’m officially done with Marvel. For them to just write off one of the few prominent Black Superhero that we got is just bullshyt and completely disrespectful to Chadwicks legacy.

We had various actors portray Batman and Superman so why can’t the same happen with T’Challa? :mjpls:

Coogler has been working on this film for a year and now he has to trash his script and re-write a whole new on within 6 months. This is not a good look. However, Coogler is talented, and there have been good films made that have had difficult productions so I'll keep an open mind. We'll see.

Keeping SOME hope alive for brehs..

With this Spider-Man news of different Peter Parkers in SM3 it leaves open the door that the Multiverse could bring in different T'Challa. So its technically like he wasnt "recast"

I'm grasping at straws, but thats all I got so far.

You know it's going to happen

Chadwick had star power and had proved it with his many roles before he was cast.

Disney underestimated how well the movie would do and saw it do a billi

They had a strong black male lead and a plethora of great black female roles.

I like Winston Duke as M Baku but a whole movie with him? I cant see how he and Letitia carry any sequel if that's their plan.

Even Lupita would struggle to add true star power

They'll put a white avenger in.
