If George Miller can return to Mad Max why can't WB put in a call to Richard Donner?

Plus Donner is like 90 and hasn't made a movie in over a decade.

that couldve worked, but they used too much of dark knight returns in bvs, even down to how supe looked when he got hit by the nuke....

a good last solo movie for ben could be with him passing the cowl to terry (batman beyond) or one that involves azreal (sp)....hell, i hope we get a hush, strange, or red hood batman movie with ben....

Real talk - That's what soured me on BvS. Doing that and Death Of Superman was kinda greedy in the same flick, just because it took away what could have been dope moments in other movies down the line.

And don't even get me started on 'no cape flapping in the wind' after Superman got murked.

The idea of Terry as Batman though I'm with it.

If they can hold off showing us pearls bouncing down an alley again for 10-15 years, I'd be grateful.

i was halfway joking, i know it isn't really possible.

but i'm hoping whoever takes the baton has the same affinity and appreciation for what donner did.

sam raimi has said time and time again that he looked to donner's superman as a blueprint for spiderman and what do you know those movies took over the entire god damn world.

we haven't seen THAT superman since the 80's.

The fact that people still think MoS was a good Superman movie, or hell, a good movie to begin with, is just a fukking sad thing to see.

Also, despite the thread being like a full page further ahead full of imaginary stan wars I'm pretty sure folks tried to say they were tired of, Brad Bird is a fukking terrible pick because he doesn't have a strong enough grasp on live action filmmaking. Mission Impossible showed it, Tomorrowland showed it, there's simply a huge gap between his talent as an animation director and as a film director so he should just stay the fukk away. Not just from comic book movies, but live action movies period.

MoS was a good superman movie. We finally had a movie that showcased his abilities. Superman Returns was in the vein of old movies but where does it rank, on the lower tier right?

Man Of Steel 2 should have just been coming out this past Summer. Should have featured Batman very very very lightly, like in Suicide Squad.....then BVS should have been next year but WB couldn't hold it.

1. with the exception of the john williams score, superman returns had next to nothing in common with donner's superman. it was a dry, boring film completely void of a human pulse.

2. aren't comic fans constantly arguing that superman has taken a step back in popularity? that his books routinely get outsold? in fact didn't DC all but admit that they've dropped the ball hence the massive reboot... AGAIN?

Public perception plays a huge factor in it also. MoS was the best action i seen in a superhero movie i gotta put it slightly above Cap because of Supes n Zods abilities
