I’m halfway through, this shyt is visually beautiful, the cinematography is on point.

Levinson doesn’t miss with the cinematography man...same shyt with Euphoria

I havent seen it yet but how does the acting compare to denzel and viola from the movie fences? I loved fences.

Liked it, but didn't love it. Both actors gave outstanding performances, but I was super impressed by Zenbaeya's way of elevating the dialogue. The black and white was a great choice. Here you got this couple coming home late night, emotions are all muddled, and then the toxicity in the relationship just oozes out minute by minute. A really nice house they have, yet the entire situation makes you feel claustrophobic throughout it all. It was raw. Excellent cinematography all around.

Oh man, and the way they rolled them opening credits was such a nice touch.

Wtf is that? Reminds me of a drama class where the two students are shouting and reading off of their scripts... pretentious af.


Zendaya and denzel's son have zero chemistry and a mismatch. He sounds exactly like his father

She can't act for shyt...she sounds like she came straight off of a Disney show. "Thatssss rad headass

The best part was that "thank you" rant Zendaya did. I know its alot Zendaya stans on here so yall must be in heaven with the way he they focused on her body. I dont get it but hey congratulations

Overall good movie, cinetography. I just wished the argument were more realistic. Nobody gonna sit there and do speeches like this movie did. If it was a play then I could understand.

Fences is much better, more characters and more material to work with. Viola and Denzel characters were much more well rounded and likable. Fences had a lot of dialogue but they shifted and talked about more subjects that advanced the plot. Malcom & Marie just keep circling back to the same argument with views on film/criticism sprinkled in.

Malcolm And Marie is still very good tho imo

The movie largely isn't good, and it's almost all because of Levinson. The script just isn't any good, and he sticks JDW with all of this loud, meandering, and pretentious dialogue.

This movie is EXHAUSTING. There are ways to make a good movie with a couple just talking. The Before Sunset movies are all about two people walking and talking and they're all classics. Hell, the movie that came out last month with Hathaway and Ejiofor had more believable dialogue than this.

My wife hated it but I thought it was okay. As a screenwriter trying to balance my writing with my relationship I related somewhat with JDW’s character. But got damn he was doing the most with some of those monologues, I get that his character was a bit of a narcissist but there was just something so “theatrical” about his dialogue. Think it was the combination of the script and JDW’s acting. I think Zendaya came off as way more natural

but yeah. Thought it was decent. But if you wanna see a better version of this style done right definitely check out the Before Sunrise movies

Before sunrise and before sunset are classics. Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke did a superb job. I'm thinking about getting into writing myself.
