But even a healthy relationship
Has these type of dynamics
People forget why they really fukk with each other
Sometimes partners get so caught up in day to day shyt
Knowing they already have the person
So the work is less
Or
Sometimes people pour themselves so much into another
And resentment and other shyt starts to bubble
Even though I’m in the best relationship of my life
I noticed some shyt I do in my own life
And my wife noticed some things in her self too
It definitely created a dialogue between me and her

As for the first part of your comment
I know Twitter is an echo chamber of misery
But it just kinda sucks that people can’t wait to shyt on something
Zendaya did her thing
And John David did too
Only one of his monologues was iffy
And some of the big words used in the arguments
Ain’t nobody doing that in the real world

I know it still hunts her
She got real quiet during that scene
I’m a better communicator now but some things

That scene where Zendaya had the knife and transformed to a deranged psycho just to prove to him she could act was very believable and impressive.

I stand corrected. I really liked this film. It ran a little too long but overall very solid and thoughtful. JDW and Zendaya proved they can really act and carried this film very well.

Just finished watching

Agreed the acting by both the leads was on point like something else in the film .

I felt the relationship aspect of the fights worked the best between the 2 characters, could have done with less time focused on the response to critics and how they view films . Although I'm sure the writer/director was getting some shyt off about how he felt .


Reminded me of how funny John David Washington could be, would like to see him in a comedy film at some point.

The movie was good but it made me look IMDB to see who wrote it. Dude was definitely trying to get some shyt off his chest . We need more black writers

My wife hated it but I thought it was okay. As a screenwriter trying to balance my writing with my relationship I related somewhat with JDW’s character. But got damn he was doing the most with some of those monologues, I get that his character was a bit of a narcissist but there was just something so “theatrical” about his dialogue. Think it was the combination of the script and JDW’s acting. I think Zendaya came off as way more natural

but yeah. Thought it was decent. But if you wanna see a better version of this style done right definitely check out the Before Sunrise movies
