been saying it on this thread, people saying luka gon be a bust because he's not an elite athlete was dumb as hell. as if athleticism is the only requirement to succeed in the NBA. luka can hoop -- he's too crafty.

I gotta say, Luca looks good too, tho. He's one of them not noticeably quick YET crafty types. :ehh:
The NBA isnt as physical as it once was so Euro-League players are bound to flourish in this era.
Time will tell how them two will compare:manny:

Exactly. Plus he’s a pretty big lad so the physical side will be less of a problem for him than a guy like trae. Who’s pretty short and frail looking.

Him being fat is probably helping him just now, like when Kevin love was fat. :skip:

When was the NBA "too physical" for Euro-League players?

Euro-League players have had success in the NBA since they first started coming - Detlef, Drazen, Vlade, Sabonis, Peja. Basketball's popularity in Europe is a bit more recent than its popularity in the NBA so the real flood of talent is pretty recent, but that has nothing to do with physicality. Do you not watch the Olympics? There are squads that are pushing around American Dream Team sometimes.

Doggy don't act like when we watched the Olympics that the American players warrant overwhelmingly way more physical than European players.

Sure there were some that came through and we're just as physical as American players but most European players were like Toni kukoc and Goran Dragic. Sure you have some Divac and Shrempf that were the exception. But don't act like we didn't have a bunch of European players who came in failed in the NBA because it was way too physical for them

luka is a proof larry bird would've dominated this league :wow:

you can't teach skills :mjlit:
I said it in this thread or one of these threads, he is to Larry Bird as Kobe is to MJ. He doesn't have the physical gifts Bird had and Kobe didn't have what MJ had but those two might be more skilled than their elder.

Just as I said before the draft. Luka is a problem. I am glad he is doing well. @staticshock , I told you he was a baller.

If we keeping it 100...JJJ might be better than both
JJJ is a different type of player. If I may admit, I was wrong on JJJ. I called him Marvin Williams Jr. all predraft where he is a rich man's Marvin Williams. I'll take my L on that one. I still didn't want him with the Hawks. :yeshrug:
