So now that whites can't use magic anymore, could the rioting white people that Tic briefly saw be due to that fact?

Like an alternate future where black people exclusively wielding magic is universally known? :ohhh:

Edit:

With Atticus being a sort of Christ-like savior figure who was the catalyst. Keep in mind his grandmother said he'd save them (black people) all.

So the one straight brother left on the show dies, so that girl power and the gay dude can raise the baby......yeah....what an ending....

Show was all over the place for the most part... with a couple really good episodes In between. I don’t need to see another season of this. That finale confirmed that thought for me.

I’ve been on thecoli long enough I knew this was coming when all the black women were helping to bind Titus.

Considering most stories begin with the mother dead and inconsequential it was a decent flip of the normal fairytale.

Gotdamn I hated the ending of Atticus really dying. Its hard to see a path forward with this for another season, but I did really, really enjoy this season so I'd definitely give another season a shot...

Whether its over or there's more to come later, I give the series a 8-8.5. There were too many low points to sustain the momentum of Episode 1, which is truly a classic pilot. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by a drop off with such an explosive open...

The first half of the season had the up and down chopping but the back half finished strong, and honestly thats what you want, you want your stories/series to finish strong. The finale wasn't one of the better episodes, but it wasn't one of the worst by a long shot, and ultimately tied up the story adequately...

shyt is a solid 8 for me even with the low episodes, I'll watch Misha Green shyt in the future just on the strength of this!

Yeah, the season finale definitely wrapped up the over-arching story of the Braithwhite's vs. Freemans with Atticus making the ultimate sacrifice for the betterment of his family and black people as a whole :mjcry:

If the show does get a season 2 there are a number of directions the show could explore (The showrunner Misha Green has talked about this). Whether you do something with Tic's son, or introduce a whole new cast of characters with maybe some Season 1 characters sprinkled in. The core concept she has in mind is really exploring genre (horror, sci-fi, etc) with people of color who aren't normally seen in that space.

On the series as a whole there were definitely some :wow:moments, mixed with some :ld:elements as they seemed to take a grab bag approach to things with a lot of stuff sprinkled in. As a result some of the overall plotting and character moments didn't hit as hard and could have used more focus, but the overall package was entertaining and kept me looking forward to the show every Sunday because I didn't know what to expect :ohhh:.

There were definitely moments I haven't seen before on any show :ehh:
