All I'll say is this man. There's a reason they did the whole invulnerability thing. Trying to provide an example 'once again' of black women being more concerned about the black man's well-being than their own-- despite Letty being well aware she was pregnant. Then of course the white woman does the "right" thing and offers it to her instead-- because white women are the "allies" of black women.

These writers are something else. Leti is the true Alpha of the show.
I like them finally letting Tic get some work in with that bat (although the white lady got away).

Well, as the show is playing out so far, she has a point regarding Tic. Look at the shyt Leti has experienced...look at how Montrose grew up....Uncle George went up yonder....just saying :yeshrug:

Edit: a few posts above, someone quoted a Twitter page that draws the point that black men's lives don't have "value" until we die...drawing the point that everyone else's moments have resulted in tribulations and hardship, while Atticus's tribulation will lead to his death.
:what:
You feel this way because of how the story is being told. Tic's story is pretty fukked up...

-He grew up with his dad beating him as a cover for his sexuality and projecting his trauma on him
-Oh and... get this, that's not even his biological pops, it's his uncle who he adored, who knew he was getting his ass beat and also knew he could be his father
-Lost his moms (I'm fuzzy on how she passed but he was young when it happened I assume)
-He was murdering prisoners of war and torturing them
-Fell in love and lost his virginity to a Fox Demon Monster
-Learns his pops not his pops, and that his uncle is... AFTER his uncle gets killed

:hubie:

I don't know. Tic was moments way from being sacrificed, he ended fukking some kind of demon, went to the future to see that he is dead. He been dealing with some shyt too.
Exactly

I was being a bit facetious. I saw this from the jump. Overall I'm enjoying the show... but it's sad and a bit scary that people can't see the underlying messages being projected. And it becomes even more apparent once you see who the writers are.

Gotcha. I figured as much, but didn't want to assume

I totally agree.

Exactly

:why:I can only look at it how the story is being told, breh. I didn't read the source material.

Tic's story is fukked up, for sure. The story is being told through other character's traumas with Tic being a witness. Leti's death/resurrection, Uncle George's death, Montrose's beating by his dad and the racists. :yeshrug:

The amount of sexual deviancy this show has shown or eluded to is appalling.

From the explict man on man bussy action.
To the transgender/ transracial interacial love affair between Ruby and skinny cacette. :what:
Tic being in love/ Turned out by a tentacle sprawling fox she-demon.
And now they reveal that Tic was born from a train/ orgy of 2 brothers (one gay) and his mom's is just :mindblown: :hhh:

Low key they playing into just about every sick fetish out there. :scust:

They never said they there was a threesome. They said the 3 of them had a connect, like how does three some come out of that unless you have the littlest understanding of human connections.

Tic fell in love with Ji-ah before he found out the truth about her so idk what your trying to imply considering the moment he found out he was disgusted. Idk how kink shaming fits into a fantasy.

queerness isn’t a fetish & the only thing that could been seen as one is Rudy & Christina.

How did Montrose say and confirm it was a train. I remember them talking about it after Tic asked if his mom's cheated on him, but I need to put on subtitles cause I don't be catching some details in the dialog

:dead:

He said we were all smashing together?
:picard:
Of course not.

You gotta keep in mind when you're asking thecoli about emotional nuance or complex relationships that they don't actually have any. They just watch movies, porn, and listen to podcasts by people who do the same.

I love this show and the surprising elements that happens but I struggled through last weeks episode. I have nothing but respect for all of my ancestors because of the murder and trauma they had to go through during those dark times. This show is not perfect but it's entertaining and paints not the monsters as the ultimate evil but white people who are.

Man...This show goes back and forth between peak TV.....to being shoddy within the same damn episode.

Them CGI planes dropping bombs right by Leti was both moving and :gucci:

Very entertaining. It can be consistently be great if Misha and the writers/directors could just tighten up some things.

I'm not saying that because now....but so it can truly last and age well.

No Whammies!!
I'm not a fan of time travel stories in general, so this wasn't my favorite episode.

Also, something about the tone of this show is off. Lovecraft stories take place in an indifferent universe filled with cosmic monsters that are totally indifferent to human life. But this show is trying a little too hard to be "positive". It even had the characters praying during the firebombing scene. Turning Lovecraft stories into a battle of "good vs evil" doesn't really fit, to me.
