She was severely underused.

I don't know if people watch trailers so...

You see what looks to be her, Montrose, and Hippolyta standing at each other backs as an angry mob approaches them on the bridge that George was murdered on.

Uncle George and Montrose running a train on Atticus's mama :picard:

The amount of sexual deviancy this show has shown or eluded to is appalling.

From the explict man on man bussy action.
To the transgender/ transracial interacial love affair between Ruby and skinny cacette. :what:
Tic being in love/ Turned out by a tentacle sprawling fox she-demon.
And now they reveal that Tic was born from a train/ orgy of 2 brothers (one gay) and his mom's is just :mindblown: :hhh:

Low key they playing into just about every sick fetish out there. :scust:

How did Montrose say and confirm it was a train. I remember them talking about it after Tic asked if his mom's cheated on him, but I need to put on subtitles cause I don't be catching some details in the dialog

But he is that stereotype though regardless of how he got there. Him being a black man forced to live and provide during those times was enough to make me feel bad for him.

As I stated in another thread, my main issue is that the “struggles” these characters face aren’t realistic to the time period. It’s 2020 liberal/elite black issues being forced upon 1950s everyday black characters. Black folks weren’t worried white acceptance (or wanting to be white), being closeted, “gaslighting”, black men being the “weakest link” and white feminism. Hell, they even made the death of Emmitt Till a commentary about women.

These writers clearly have no experience with everyday black folks and refuse to do any real research of the time period outside of aesthetics. I’m finishing the season and hope for another season in the interest of black art, but it’s been a lot of bullsh*t thrown in this show.

Times have changed but shyt was still going on back then. Thinking there weren't black people who hated themselves and wanted the privilege granted to whites, or gays having to suppress their lifestyle and choices shows your lack of understanding of even the big name black people within our culture.

Also showing the assault on a white woman, to me was to show how fukking horrible it was to the white audience. They don't view us as people so assaulting a lily white blonde haired woman for the character showed her trying to understand because her jump off gave her the business and also shows to white people how horrible the assault on us really was. Yeah it was a bit ham-fisted but it is effective in how they are able to give the black audience and white audience something different to take away from a scene.

Cosmic horror and sci-fi aren't really big things in the black media space and white versions of this media don't ever really try to delve into the intricacies of our people rarely if ever. It's actually the racist lovecraft who through his bigotry would use racism as a theme for some of his stories and while today I understand how vile that fukk really was, younger me could see something there that white kids I knew reading didn't even consider or take away form the material. This isn't a perfect show but you have to give it to them for really going for a lot and accomplishing quality content to water cooler talk about in the same league as some of the biggest names in the genre.

It was implied HEAVY. When Montrose breaks the news to Tic about George possibly being his father. Tic in shock asks "Momma CHEATED on you with Uncle George?!" :damn:

Montrose responds by saying something like "you dont know the bond those Tulsa riots created between us 3" or something to that effect.

That shyt had Tic like :ohhh::picard::scust::mjtf::snoop::to::scusthov::mindblown::damn:

I was looking at the screen like :hhh:

I can't remember. To be honest, I made the post as a joke because Montrose used the excuse that the 3 of them were really close after the Tulsa incident. I need to rewatch the episode.

My impression was that she did but since him and his brother went through hell together that he couldn't bring himself to hate his brother and cut him off. Plus he didn't like women lowkey.

Smh just watched again....Tic was happy as shyt to get the book back :banderas:. Montrose and Leti were traumatized and exhausted :snoop::sadcam:

Leti was right about what she said to Tic.... everyone is getting fukked up, except for you smh
:patrice:

Interesting. So is she essentially saying the black man gets to endure this unscathed while the gay man and the black woman have to suffer through these traumas?

Well, as the show is playing out so far, she has a point regarding Tic. Look at the shyt Leti has experienced...look at how Montrose grew up....Uncle George went up yonder....just saying :yeshrug:

Edit: a few posts above, someone quoted a Twitter page that draws the point that black men's lives don't have "value" until we die...drawing the point that everyone else's moments have resulted in tribulations and hardship, while Atticus's tribulation will lead to his death.

I don't know. Tic was moments way from being sacrificed, he ended fukking some kind of demon, went to the future to see that he is dead. He been dealing with some shyt too.

Tic knew he was going to die since the show started. To me, it's different knowing you're going to die versus getting killed and resurrected. Granted, Leti came back, but she was dead. Uncle George is dead. Neither one of them anticipated dying when they went to Ardham. All I'm saying is if we're doing comparisons, he's gotten off light so far.

I don't know man. fukking that spider/fox creature would have put me over. Plus, the fact that his memory wasn't wiped of what happened in the woods that night with the monsters.

You said Tic knew he was going to die since the start, can you tell me when you took notice to this? I'm planning to start from the top Friday to catch things I missed in order to be ready for the finale.

I was being a bit facetious. I saw this from the jump. Overall I'm enjoying the show... but it's sad and a bit scary that people can't see the underlying messages being projected. And it becomes even more apparent once you see who the writers are.

All I'll say is this man. There's a reason they did the whole invulnerability thing. Trying to provide an example 'once again' of black women being more concerned about the black man's well-being than their own-- despite Letty being well aware she was pregnant. Then of course the white woman does the "right" thing and offers it to her instead-- because white women are the "allies" of black women.
