You're missing out on A LOT, breh. This isn't one of those shows you just have playing in the background while you wash dishes. You have to watch and follow along.
This is one of those shows like The Wire or Game of Thrones where there are a lot of little things that matter later, and there are a lot of Easter eggs related to ADOS history on the show, too.
This is nowhere near the level of The Wire or Game of Thrones, but I kinda get where you're going with it. Thing is, a lot of what they're doing to "educate" people is shoehorned into the show and has nothing to do with the overarching story line....whatever its supposed to be. That, to me, is one of the problems with this show. In many ways, it's unfocused. In other ways, it's heavy handed on the feminist statements. Then you want to cater to the gay people....and somehow mix a story in the midst of all that mess. I'm not familiar with Misha Green's other work...and truth be told, I only gave it a shot because of Peele's involvement...but she hasn't impressed me with this effort. The potential is definitely there, but you only see flashes of it in some episodes.

"True Blood" is a good comparison. The problem is, the pilot would give you the impression that it was going to be much better than True Blood.
It has some of the same faults, plus the same weird anachronistic soundtrack choices you might see in a show like Godfather of Harlem.
I'm gonna try to binge watch this weekend. I've just been reading people in here talk about it and the comments got me interested.

This is much better than True Blood lol... The acting and cinematography as well as all the little easter eggs in here equate to a show that is far superior. Not a show without its problems as I've discussed.. but True Blood is a network television show with some swearing and nudity and that's it

Christina is prolly gonna sacrifice herself in some way. They're setting up her face turn.

If they truly do that then the show truly has NO meaning.

Its not “don’t trust the white men its don’t trust WHITE PEOPLE PERIOD”.

Christina sacrificing herself for any negroes be they man or woman would be a cop out of c00ntastic proportions

There are clues.
In episode 1, when Tic tells George that he got a letter from his dad about his mom, George makes the :wtf: face.

Also, in episode 2, George & Montrose discuss Tic's possible paternity while George is on his deathbed.
I caught everything about Montrose not being his pops. I just missed the pieces where it was alluding to George being his pops. When I watched the second episode, I didn't even realize that was Tic's moms with George when he was envisioning her.

:yeshrug:

My wife was like, "George is Tic's pops" a few days ago and I was like huh? :dwillhuh: and I went back to rewatch some scenes (specifically George's death and the vision scene with Tic's moms). I was thinking Tic's pops was someone who was related to Christina.

:manny:

I be following, but sometimes I miss shyt and just fill in the blanks til shyt is revealed.

The thing I love most about this episode was those demon girls following tics cousin around.

All that dancing, smiling and creeping around is vodoulicious:jawalrus:

Except the part where the one walked in the door then looked back into the camera. Poor directing.

So I just started binge watching this show with the episodes so far and Im only half way through the series so far but I gotta everyone here

How did everyone feel about the show Episodes 3-5?:patrice:

For some reason to me, the show kinda felt like changed directions after episode 2 from what I thought it was gonna be . Im still watching and overall its a good show...but theres a few aspects Im unsure bout.

Edit: Ok so reading the thread it seems im not the only one. The music beats are definetly too over the head. I feel like modern muisc placements kinda kill it
Also feels like it has a lot of ideas going at once

I didn't realize how much I got behind but I'm all caught up now.

6. Meet Me in Daegu

I don't know what it was about this one, but I enjoyed this episode a lot. It might even be my favorite of the season outside of episode one. They navigated the whole parallel love story in search of self-identity, parent's transgressions and being ' monsters' on the path to redemption extremely well.

7. I Am

Here we are...right back off the rails :francis:. Don't care about all of the Easter eggs and whatnot, the execution was just sloppy. The best part of this episode was Hippolyta and even that's a few years too late:

We could've found another way to push her toward self discovery, ultimate potential and all that. The dialogue was a mess. They shot PAST the mf stars in terms of symbolism and "wokeness". I don't know who tf okayed this one.

8. Jig-A-Bobo

Diana did the damn thing this episode. Girl got a bright future ahead of her. Them 2 lil demons was cutthroat and yet pump faking at the same time. Masterfully done either way:wow: .

This whole Christina and Ruby shyt getting kind of :hubie:

lmao @ Atticus walking into that shyt with Leti and Ji-ah. Cuh knew what it was soon as he saw the shoes :beli:

Although, Omar Montrose will never be from Harlem, :dame: , I'm glad him and his youngin' reconciled. You don't see that a lot for a variety of reasons.

Last scene was :gladbron: worthy. This season's had had some major missteps and stumbles but overall, there's been enough good compared to bed to scope the potential.
