That was the whole reason they went on the museum adventure in episode 4, and the reason that Tic was trying to decypher the codes in episode 5. Hippolyta's golden solar system ties into it too. The big story pieces are there.

Oh listen.. the pieces are there and have been there for a great show but I feel like they have bricked a few open threes along the way and now I'm not nearly as sold on the potential.

I really like Tic and Leti and of course I like how they've done 50's Chicago etc.. and how life was.. but they gotta tighten this shyt up. It's not just because Montross is gay for no reason. There's been other issues lol

Had to stop midway through this ep to see the coli outrage:russ:

This e.p was a drag though, worst ep for me and not just for the non-harlem activity. Pretty much knew where they were going with Ruby as a WW. Even though I thought it was cool with the magically element, it really didn't warrant an entire episode considering we already have enough exposition on that topic leading up to it anyway. Saw the twist with Christina using magic to be William early since they were never in the same scene together but was still kinda cool.

The Montrose stuff felt really lazy and just checkbox writer room themes. Also seems to kinda insinuate all off his character issues and being a a$$hole to Tic is due to his repressed homosexuality. This seems to be the overall problem with this show, the lower tier episodes tries to overdo it with the themes while sacrificing pacing and plot. Def has a academia twitter vibe.

Most of all, the modern music inserts are just trash

Boy.....this is going to shyt pretty quickly. Didn't need the Montrose scenes. That totally took me out of the show and really the series b/c we still don't know what the fukk is going on and we should at this point. My patience is just about gone. These music options are just straight annoying/horrible and is so jarring it takes you out of the mood of the scenes. They are really fumbling this show.
Cardi B playing during these scenes...

The gay Scenes didn’t bother me. They’re gay black people back then, now and forever.

The bedwenching was horrible tho. I don’t know if it was written purposely like this, but it showed how wenching is self-hate and how they’re just used for a goal of whites. The was quick to embrace the whiteness and fall in love with a dude who didn’t even exist. I loved it

Between this and P-Valley, I'm a lil tired of seeing niccas spit in their hands, lol, that's all I'ma say. :hubie:

Other than that, episode wasn't bad. It wasnt great either. The theme of transformation and metamorphosis was loud and clear and yet some of it still rang hollow and/or lacked something to round things out. Wouldve like to see more of Tic and Jurnee. shyt, would of like to see more of the REAL Ruby cuz she been killing this whole what its like to be a heavy set black woman as opposed to even a black man, light skin black woman, etc.

Gonna continue to let things play out. My excitement levels have tapered with each episode I think but I'm still invested.

This show feels like a black True Blood in terms of quality. I was expecting more given the cast. The writers and the direction is holding it back. The first episode and the last few don't even feel like the same show.

Cardi B:snoop:

Another shoehorned in gay character:francis:. It's one thing if it makes narrative sense like Omar in the The Wire but these writers feel like they need to cram every social issue and give everyone a voice in black shows.

Jurnee:whoo:. I almost forwarded past that instead I had to pause and rewind:banderas:

I'm still watching but I feel like whoever is behind the vision is the wrong person for the job.
