This film reminded me of quite a few different properties

Terminator 2
The Last of Us
Mad Max Fury Road
And the countless films that inspired Stranger Things

It added up nicely to a well made and compelling film, even if it was pretty derivative.

Fox needs to make all their films going forward rated r.

Corner this market.

No half measures like Suicide squad and wb in general.

Make adult comic book films.

The audience wants them.

I even read a story about audiences being polled and over 70% want more rated r comic films.

There is limitless potential in here.

Don't be grim dark and edgy. Be ADULT.

Next X men needs to be rated r. Next fantastic four rated r.

An R-rated Fantastic Four flick, that has to be legit the dumbest thing I've ever read about comic book movies on the Coli.:mjlol:

Hell, I don't even know why you dudes are acting like an R-rating magically changes the quality of the film or something. You even say it yourself, don't be grim, dark and edgy. Be adult. "Adult" has nothing to do with an R-rating. For a bunch of guys all on Nolan's Batman dikk I figured you'd know this already. The key word is tone. Throwing an R-rating on everything is essentially what the comic book industry did in the late 80s/early 90s following the success of Frank Miller and Alan Moore, just throw violence and grittiness at everything thinking it placates "adult" themes. Of course it didn't because the nature of a lot of these stories were disposable trash. But on the other hand it birthed opportunities for guys like Grant Morrison and Neil Gaiman to write comics that surpassed the old limitations and write adult stories featuring complex themes.

Don't get me wrong, there's a place for purely R-rated comic book movies, where suitable (think The Punisher, Lobo, Venom, Midnighter, Spawn, etc.) but for most comic book franchises the answer isn't to make the movies harder, it's to make them smarter.

The MCU/DCU have a few movies better than Logan.

I mean it was good, very good, but some of the comments :dwillhuh: I definitely don't see this as setting any standards (except for maybe the MCU to take things a bit more serious) and I definitely did not see a 10/10 movie or anything close to it.

I think Wolverine has been attached to so many shytty movies that it elevates Logan to a higher level than it really deserves. The Logan/Laura/Xavier scenes were all great. The villain scenes were all very meh. Best they could do was a younger clone :gucci:, a scientist experimenting and a goon who doesn't accomplish anything.

We've already seen Wolverine fight other clawed villains (and done better in Xmen2), we've seen humans trying to use Mutants as weapons and we've seen goons.

Im probably guilty of this. gave it 4 1/2 stars cause i thought the shyt was poppin but also the fact that is was miles ahead of them other 2 movies and most of the X-Men joints altogether :yeshrug:

I actually appreciate the villians in this film. The clone showed how much Wolverine had fallen off. Seeing the super :demonic: vs super :flabbynsick: had me like, "Damn, not like this :mjcry:. Also, the scientist is twisted as hell. The mutant population are wiped out and u think that a new group are being borned. Nope, they are being created and cloned from mutant corpses to be raised as killing machines :mjlol:.
