I was too distracted by "The experts of Doggy Style" to notice the company was called "Down on All Fours". :dead:

I have watched this twice, and now can eulogize the show and post my thoughts on the finale….

I watched the premiere episode, and have been watching since the beginning, and the show may have been inconsistent at times, but it always progressed and refined it's characters, building on the same themes of friendship, violence, and fate in rural Kentucky….

I thought that at times the season, seemed slightly rough and not as smooth or seamless as the masterful 'Season 3', the finale was no exception, but overall was such a perfect, fitting, and touching way to end the show, i cannot complain. Starting with Raylan being subjected to the uncompromising treatment of that state trooper, the equivalent of his own medicine, and the many hilarious, and harsh ways he treated the prisoners he was escorting throughout the 6 season….and continuing with his and Art's last run together, more like father and son, that Raylan never had..then boss and reckless employee…Everything with Markham was handled well, if anticlimactic, but the show was about Raylan, and Boyd, first and foremost.

The little touches like the sunrise in the beginning and the music, those slight guitar riffs and twinges throughout were great for the atmosphere too...

The tension as Boyd and Raylan contemplated killing each other, all the banter and lightness of their conversations stripped down, and each man silently begging to kill and die, raw scene. What I think may be the subtext is that Boyd, pushed Raylan to be the man he was trying to be, by not gunning him down, and letting him out of that one kill he had been pushing so hard for. In what may be one of the series mod perfect moments, 'Never Leave Harlan Alive' playing as Ava and Raylan weave through the hills, each at the end of their journeys, I imagined an ending where they just kept driving….The shootout with Boone was great, and as they lay on the ground, I was ok with it ending in some way like that, though they should have escalated the drama a little, if that was to be the case. Loretta and Raylan got a brief epilogue together, which I liked too.

Art and Raylans drink together was another touching moment, and Raylan gets one more remark 'it'd be weird if you did', before walking out. 'The Friends of Eddie Coyle' is actually a dope movie, i watched on TCM one late night like 5 years ago, 'The Town' has a scene inspired by it's opening. Also, loved the Miami scenes, and the way it all ends up for Raylan, it may have been a little too much to leave Winona and Raylan together. He finally gets a reprieve as 'The angriest man she had ever known'…The Ava epilogue was better the second time, the first felt forced and out of sync, but it played nicely on second watch…I am sort of confused why she didn't at least get a portion of the money. LOL @ Wynn for the last time.

The conversation, as many have noted was nothing short of perfect, and the preceding shots "well GODDDAMN Boyd Crowder how many TIIIMES you gonna tell this story" were hilarious and fitting as well as the 'Trying to provoke me Raylan Givens, you know Jesus Chris was a Jew" killed me…but their little talk said so much in only a few lines, the way Boyd spoke and looked when he realized Ava was gone, and the way he asked Raylan to tell him why he came down there….'We dug coal together…..'thats right'. That affirmation of such an emotional connection and bond between these two hardened men was a perfect end to the show.

Looked like Tim was trying his hardest not to cry. I hated that Raylan and Rachel had that weak goodbye. I thought they were tighter than that. I know Raylan a hard ass (n/h) but at least let Rachael shows that she cares about him

I understood and even liked the Rachel goodbye, but I was also looking for that kiss on the cheek, or something like an apology from Raylan…Also, to consider is what they are saying is Rachel is just as tough….
