If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
I still can’t believe this movie was bombarded by critics, simply because it didn’t fit their criteria for Superman (aka the Reeves version).
Funnily enough, Henry Cavill’s version is comicbook accurate: Golden age Superman, Earth One, John Byrne, New 52 etc
.

Not why that movie was killed, but you know that. I legitimately have never been more hyped to see a movie than I was MoS. Never! Had opening night tickets weeks in advance, forced my friend to go with me, favorite superhero, etc. Swagged into the theater like: :jawalrus:. By the time that movie ended I had the :gucci: face. Of course that movie was killed critically.

Man of Steel wasn't 'killed' considering it had like 56% on RT means 56% of critics liked... but it was divisive. it says a lot that fans liked Man of Steel but fans didn't like Superman Returns.

Critics that liked Superman Returns hated Man of Steel... so u know fans appreciated a different Superman but critics wanted the same old shyt :manny:

Well, I can agree with that. Snyder’s take on Superman is extremely divisive. In fact, I’d say Snyder’s take on “heroism” as an ideal is extremely divisive, but I digress.

Going into man of steel I kind of already knew what I was going to see and I wasn't mad at that. Plus superman in a new light intrigued me, was bored of him always being perfect and squeaky clean.

I don’t think the critics actually like the character.
They like the ideal he represents (according to them) and Christopher Reeve was the personification of that ideal.
I remember the outrage when Superman killed Zod in Man Of Steel. People were losing their mind, even though Superman killed him in the comics and in Superman 2 (threw a depowered Zod off an ice cliff). He showed no remorse in the latter one and actually smiled like :pachaha:

Another thread where you got dudes slandering Man of Steel.

I got to stay out of the Film room. Some of the worst takes.

You got people crying about GoT season 7 & 8 (which indeed was :trash:) but praised The mandalorian (which is also :trash:) repeats storyline every episode.

Y'all really deserve :trash: like GoT season 7 & 8 and Star Wars Episode 7, 8, and 9.
