I've been seeing a lot of this and I want to clarify a couple things because people are making this angle out to be more ridiculous than it really was.
The premise isn't absurb if you dont think of the dinosaurs as impossible sci-fi monsters and instead think of them as simply animals, which the movie did well to mention several times throughout. People work with and train all sorts of animals including big cats and such that could easily have them for lunch, so this wasn't that far off.
Secondly, its not like Macklin had the raptors doing tricks and shyt. He jumped in the cage as a spur of the moment thing to save the kid's life. They established that he had been working with these raptors since they were babies and he still had to dive to safety because they were about to tear him apart.
I liked that the plan to hunt the IR with the raptors immediately backfired as well, proving how absurb THAT was.
