shyt was objectively trash.
Terrible film.
His acting was on point, but the shyt was boring as fukk.
60% of the movie was him sitting in a room alone smoking, monolouging, or laughing at nothing.
The good parts were good, but there weren't enough of them.
Can't wait for someone to tell me, "You didn't get it then."

There really wasn't much compelling dialogue in the movie, other than the scene with him on the show.
The rest of it was just... drab.
Obviously the killings were compelling. And I get it's an origin story. But goddamn this shyt was boring as fukk.

Yeah I usually don't pay attention to box office but this shyt is absurd, it's been outgrossing Maleficent and now did half of what a new TERMINATOR movie did in it's first weekend. And it hasn't even been officially nominated for an Oscar, which usually gives these movies another bump.

You’re not completely wrong. In the end I feel like the movie was good, but I share your same criticism. The movie is more of a critique on how society treats the mentally ill; which is honestly something that didn’t necessarily click with me. The twists in the movie were very well done and I loved the closing scenes but the first half was way too slow for me. I don’t need every movie to be high in action, but I felt like they spent too much time showing us how he got picked on. I would have liked it better if he did different things in his build up to become the joker besides be society’s punching bag. He’s mentally ill, he has a child-innocence, and is socially awkward with a unpredictable nature to him that actually makes him a threat more so than the movie would have you believe. I’m not sure what exactly they could have done to fix the movie FOR ME. Maybe show different types of interactions, different sides of his personality. That might be it for me; despite his mental illness and how severe it was; I felt like the majority of his reactions were completely predictable. You get a sense almost immediately that he going to get picked on the whole movie and eventually snap. In that sense, I was ready the entire time to move on from the sad story and get to the climax of the story which is what we all came out for to begin with.
I walked out halfway into the film. I was falling asleep. This shyt took itself way too serious.
