You underestimate national Iranian pride…

They fought a brutal war against Saddam Hussein in the 1980s. Hundreds of thousands killed through conventional and chemical weapons means.

If their country is attacked they have the man power to defend it.

They fought a war with backhanded American supplied weapons because Saddam was still the enemy back then. Iran will be split like Syria...if a civil war breaks out. It's a massive country...there is no way they are defending all that territory.

30-40% cannot wait to get even IMO at this regime which is more than enough to create chaos in a war scenario

They will be supplied weapons to give the regime problems if a war breaks out. America arms separatists all the time.
I refuse to believe the average Iranian wants to live under this regime, with American supplied weapons an insurgency can do some serious damage in a civil war.
