Just rewatched contagion the other day and that line about the birds weaponizing the flu popped back in my head.
A real bird flu would make Rona look like a vacation.
Starting to get early covid pandemic feels with this one. Got a text from a epidemiologist friend of mine who is very much not the alarmist type, he said
""FYI you can start panicking about bird flu now. The entities who should be working to protect it getting into dairy workers and cattle are doing fukk all. It could very well cause the next pandemic and we are 110% not prepared, thanks to society and politics a la covid.""
I went ahead and stocked up on mask, sanitizing supplies etc.

Makes sense... a ton of the virus has been H1 variants... our body is familiar to them, H5 is something the human body will have to re-learn if it gets serious.
