The human subplots in skull island were better because they had better actors. Simple as that.

I think KOM was better but Skull Island had one of the greatest lines in cinema history.

Skull Island is way better than KOTM in my opinion. The first films were perfect, then they stared doing way too much.

Showa era Kumonga is a VERY underrated kaiju. No one brings him up because he's just a giant spider but Godzilla only escaped because he had help from his son. Only the combined atomic breaths of him and Minilla hurt Kumonga who's web was shown to be just as strong as Godzilla's beam. No to mention he stung Godzilla's eye out and poisoned him. Another kaiju that actually did more damage than King Ghidorah

Kumonga will always get my respect for actively participating in the final fight in Destroy All Monsters against King Ghidorah. He and Mothra made a good team with their double attack. Meanwhile Manda, Varan, and Baragon all sat back and chilled while Godzilla and company put in work.
