First Look At Art Of Godzilla Resurgence Releasedd

Godzilla is back -- and more or less the way you remember him!
Godzilla fansite Skreeonk has released a first look at concept art from Godzilla: Resurgence, TOHO's first new Godzilla movie since 2004s Godzilla: Final Wars.
The pages feature initial concepts by Mahiro Maeda (前田 真宏 Maeda Mahiro), an acclaimed artist best known for his animation work, per Skreeonk. They were submitted to the site by a fan who apparently has early access to the August book The Art of Shin Godzilla Resurgence.
This isn't the first time that a look at Godzilla has leaked online during the run-up to Resurgence. Early looks at the character came in the form of unauthorized images on social media, which TOHO later essentially verified when they released a trailer for the film.
Even though Gareth Edwards' Godzilla did well enough to ensure that the U.S. franchise will continue for the time being, Japan's TOHO is making a new Godzilla movie for the behemoth's native market as well.
That also means it will beat Universal and Legendary's 2018 installmentto theaters, with a U.S. release teased but no official details yet available. Meanwhile, Legendary's take is going nuclear (no pun intended, introducing King Kong into the franchise and pitting the two iconic monsters against one another.
God Warrior Appears in Tokyo filmmakers Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi are co-directing Godzilla: Resurgence, based on a script written by Anno.
Godzilla: Resurgence is scheduled to be released in Japan on July 29, 2016 in IMAX, 4DX, and MX4D formats.
fukk King Kong... Even for giant monsters, that shyt was stupid... At least Mothra, despite I dislike him, gave Gawdzilla some Ls that made sense...
Dont listen to these dudes.. Hes been depicted wit a big ass tail that he uses as a weapon & lets flop around numerous times... Hes been depicted in "nuclear glowing" form multiple times... He does this shyt regularly... He dont give a fukk what building his tail crushes as he strolls through...I hear the TOHO version is going to change throughout the movie which is why he's looking like that. I'm interested either way
Ghidorah gonna be in this, or sitting on the throne in a post credit scene?
Ghidorah the gawd is just the GOAT monster villain
Origins
King Ghidorah has a different origin in every series.
In the Showa series, King Ghidorah is said to have attacked Venus under his own power many thousands of years ago, wiping out the planet's entire civilization. He later attacked Earth, but was repelled by Earth's monsters. At some point, he was taken control of by the Xiliens and used as a pawn in their invasion of Earth. King Ghidorah was destined to be taken control of by different alien races, losing his history on the way. The Garogas later claimed to have created King Ghidorah, but whether this is true or not is never definitively explained, given the monster's ancient history.
n Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, King Ghidorah is part of a scheme by time-traveling terrorists known as the Futurians to destroy Japan in the past to prevent it from becoming a global economic superpower. He is the result of the Futurians placing three genetically-engineered creatures from the future called Dorats on Lagos Island in the year 1944. In 1954, the Dorats were exposed to the Castle Bravo hydrogen bomb test conducted at nearby Bikini Atoll, which caused them to merge and mutate into King Ghidorah. According to the novelization of the film, the Dorats were engineered using DNA recovered from the corpse of another King Ghidorah found on the surface of Venus, suggesting that like in the Showa series King Ghidorah is originally an alien creature, but the one featured in the film is simply a clone of him.
In Rebirth of Mothra III, King Ghidorah, a more powerful relative of Desghidorah, arrived on the Earth millions of years ago and caused the Cretaceous extinction. He returned to Earth in the present in order to feed off of humans, especially children.
In Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, King Ghidorah is reinvented as a heroic monster for the first, and so far only, time. In this film, King Ghidorah is the God of the Sky and one of the three Guardian Monsters, along with Mothra and Baragon. An ancient Yamata no Orochi, an eight-headed dragon from Japanese mythology, King Ghidorah was slain by Japanese warriors thousands of years ago and laid to rest underneath Mount Fuji. The warriors prayed for King Ghidorah's soul, and over the next several centuries he slowly regenerated, empowered by the souls of Japan's honorable dead. However, he was awakened before he could grow back all eight of his heads, instead growing only three.
Since the first trailer for Godzilla: Resurgence dropped earlier this year, there’s been a swell of interest that even I, a self-designated Godzilla fanatic, didn’t see coming. Sure, the movie looked crazy and entertaining in a uniquely garrulous way, but it’s not like the movie looked to feature deep character or even poetic imagery in the same vein as Gareth Edward‘s masterful American take on the god-lizard. The film simply appeared to be enjoyably trashy in the way many recent takes onGodzilla have been, with the notable exception of Roland Emmerich‘s unwatchable version from the late 90s.

The latest trailer for the movie, however, ups the ante to a point where this movie looks to be one of the most promising science-fiction bonanzas getting released this year. In this version, which comes from the Philippines and which you can take a look at right below, the destruction that Godzilla causes can be seen full-scale, complete with purple lasers, blood showers, crumbling buildings, and a big swinging tail just barely missing a crowd of Japanese citizens. And this latest reminder that nothing beats a good monster movie comes with an added bonus, as news out of San Diego Comic-Con is that Godzilla: Resurgence will enjoy a stateside release before the end of 2016 via Funimation. The Japanese cut of the film look to run just short of two hours at 118 minutes, and if it’s 118 minutes of what is on display in this trailer, I am beyond in.
A cause unknown, an accident has occurred in the tunnels of the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line, causing an emergency cabinet meeting to convene. Immediately afterwards, a huge creature appears, destroying town after town with its landing reaching the capital. The mysterious giant organism named Godzilla.
Anyone heard of any reviews for the new movie yet?
It’s a peaceful day in Japan when a strange fountain of water erupts in the bay, causing panic to spread among government officials. At first, they suspect only volcanic activity, but one young executive dares to wonder if it may be something different… something alive. His worst nightmare comes to life when a massive, gilled monster emerges from the deep and begins tearing through the city, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. As the government scrambles to save the citizens, a rag-tag team of volunteers cuts through a web of red tape to uncover the monster’s weakness and its mysterious ties to a foreign superpower. But time is not on their side—the greatest catastrophe to ever befall the world is about to evolve right before their very eyes.
