The thing about this framing is that most conservatives and many Americans don't care. Giving "handouts" to corporations and billionaires is OK in the minds of many Americans because "those corporations & billionaires provide jobs and create businesses". Also, many Americans don't care that farmer subsidies is socialism because "they produce our food".
When it comes to giving "handouts" to average citizens, most conservatives and some Americans view this as "socialism", and helping "freeloaders", "I don't want my tax money being wasted", "Other people will just use the money to buy material things they don't need", etc.

Seems like there should be more pressing on the fact that removing McConnell means you get a vote on the $2000 checks. I wouldn't guarantee people will get the check, but that a vote will be held. Obviously republicans will filibuster it...although I think democrats could potentially use reconciliation to pass the bill - which would then only require 51 votes. The only thing standing in the way of this is Mitch McConnell. It should be the #1 issue of this election.
Thats what Ossoff has hanged his campaign on...
