That entire episode was one of the best of the show. It's still unnelievable how they managed to totally ruin something so great in such a short time.
Amazing opening to that episode.
It was a masterpiece.

Yes, the narrative of the books was a great part of what made this show great, but there was so much more. All the elements were there to continue to make quality television, they had the outline of the plot, HBO offered them tons of money and up to ten seasons, they had a great cast, quality directors and they could have hired writers to help them finish the story, but instead they decided to rush it and change from a complex, plot driven show to one that focused on animated battles, explosions and dragons100%
I think ....like it came out that the show passed the books in Season 5 or 6. Whatever it was.
And I enjoyed Season 6, but knowing that the show passed the books around that point....you gotta think that once they didn't have the books to go by...they really ruined the show because their writing (or concept or capacity to run out certain story lines) was pretty bad.
I really, really wonder if GRRM had finished his books and maybe say...GoT ran 9 or 10 or 11 seasons (whatever it may have taken)...that the show could have been more well-rounded and the character story arcs would have felt more natural
It’s like HBO got tired of winning awards and bringing in viewers or something. They had at least 3 seasons left of Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, and Watchmen.
I would’ve brought in Damon Lindelof who knows how to give you an awesome plot twist to finish out the last couple of seasons.
Homework was due at midnight and the writers decided at 11:16pm to start writing the last season.
And I guess we can just fukk off about the spin offs which there was content for at least 3 different ones.
True, but I was spitballing. He doesn’t know how to close a series either (Lost) but it will be a great ride leading up to that point if he had took charge.Lindelof would said no knowing what we know now.

Never saw the leftovers, The only thing I’m mad about with the Watchmen is there won’t be a second season it ended on a cliffhanger that I’m fine with.Yall still on this dumb talking point after The Leftovers and The Watchmen

Those were awards because they knew it was the last couple seasons and wants eyeballs on the awards. All three of those still ah e life to get additional awards. The Emmys gave GOT Best Drama for seasons 7 and even 8.
I didn’t see the other nominees when it won for season 7 to compare, but it winning for season 8 was just ridiculous.
Other nominees included Better Call Saul, Ozark, and Succession. I saw all of them and they were easily better than GOT’s dumpster fire of a final season.
