No he didn't. Aerys scouted him for the Hand position after he heard about how Tywin handled shyt. Tywin did his job as Hand so good that when the rumors that Tywin was the true ruler of the Kingdoms (he was even well liked), Aerys started hatin'. Aerys paranoia drove Tywin away and made him give up the position as Hand. So the Mad King's mental health starts to deteriorate, nikka has his son as a potential hostage and almost Half of Westeros are gunning to remove the crazy fakkit from the Throne. I'd march against him too.

No he didn't. His goons did it (yeah under his orders) and in a terrible fashion too but nikka was trying to move up again and to display a look of unshaken loyalty to Robert Baratheon who was pretty much about the situation.
