Rome had a huge budget. Spartacus looks cheap.

I've never watched Rome but when looking up info on the Thrones budget a lot of articles mention HBO axing Rome because the costs got too high.

Yup. I don't really remember the budget but Rome was financed by both HBO and BBC iirc.

I love Spartacus but there is no way you can compare the two. Spartacus CGI looks campy and cheap and that's not a knock against Spartacus, it's actually what makes Spartacus what it is...but to actually try to compare the two is just...laughable.

And there has been no battle on Spartacus as big as this one. I mean Spartacus posse is only like 30 deep ...even when Gaius comes they fought at a friggin' house so please don't try the location angle

And the sword play angle, really? Who compares a common soldiers fighting technique to a fukking gladiator?

Really i really could not tell how big this battle was, all i saw was a little tiny ass section and like 30 guys fighting 30 guys, oh yeah stannis the only guy to make it up the ladder , and fighting in a small corridor for a good ten minutes?

tyrion on the stairs giving his speech in a tiny area the size of my backyard to like 40 guys

dudes had one Battering ram one ONE, as soon as tyrion and his band of merry men went around back that battle lasted like 2 minutes, battle was basura

fukk the budget numbers, you can just watch spartacus and see it looks cheap and cheesy. Every time they zoomed out, that shyt was laughable. If Batty Artist Da Gawd didn't come through and crush the buildings, that show would've tanked.

Rome is a solid show, especially if you appreciate the story of caesar. With both Rome and GoT you watch and things don't feel cheesy and cheap.

Yeah, the cost was the reason Rome didn't get renewed after two seasons...Game of Thrones is expensive as hell too, but Thrones ratings are much better than Rome's were. Season 2 Premiere of Thrones (the first showing) was 3.9 million compared to Rome's season 2 premiere of 1.5 million.

Dunno what the fukk you were watching...Spartacus big battle was like 10 guys taking on the Romans and it lasted about 10 min with cheap cgi. This actually looked like a real battle and lasted the whole episode with good ass special effects for tv.

Im a fan of both but from start to finish it shyt on anything Spartacus has ever done.

Eye-popping explosion? Check
Motivating speeches? Check(I'm referring to the Hounds line)
nikkas taking flaming arrows? Check
Nggas gettin chopped in half with 1 stroke? Check
nikkas getting they head bashed in with rocks? Check
nikkas getting they head lopped off like

? Check
Dwarf catching bodies? Check
Same dwarf getting bodied? Check
nikkas getting scared and quitting? Check
Calvary coming to the rescue and catching wreck? Check.


And I don't think you can front on Stannis getting busy up on the rampart. It's not like they could surround and most nikkas up there was archers anyway so you know they ain't shyt with a sword in they hand.

Oh come on! There was one point in that battle where they showed only 2 or 3 people jumping over the wall into a small ass backyard GTFOH

So the numerous pan over the waters didn't get you to believe that there were thousands of soldiers fighting?!

And this was AFTER they had blown up half of his ships. I mean the goddamn man even said that THOUSANDS would die...yet you had no clue of the scale of the battle?

You do realize the amount of people in that picture w/ Tyrion is more than Spartacus even has on his side?
