HBO is killing this show with these budget constraints...

That episode was a huge letdown...

The build up had a nicca expecting some Braveheart sh1t but instead we got one of the dullest most boring battles ever filmed...

The speech the imp gave to rally his troops was straight up laughable...

Always one go against the grain ass nikka on every board :stopitslime:

Yo what did cersi do to lancel? Twist his nipple? He went down fast

That was the funniest part of the whole ep. The way that that nikka bounced off the stone pillar then hit the floor

"I want to escort Joffrey back to the ramparts"

"Why do I care what you think?":stopitslime:

"Now you listen to me....." *gets titty twister from Cersei*:sadbron:

Cersei hates Tyrion and it's already been shown that she sees him as a threat. It's not clear in the books as well but Tyrion is sure that Cersei is the one that put Moore up to the task. I don't think there's anymore to it.

It's the truth little nicca...

Aside for the wild fire explosion the episode was wack as fukk...

You don't use 8 episodes to build up a war which ends up being a 20 on 20 siege with one battering ram and one ladder...Then have Tywin show up with another 20 men and that's it...wars over...To make matters worse that was only half the episode, the other half was a drunk Cersi talking bullsh1t...

HBO needs to ease up with these constraints, this show brings in enough subscriptions to warrant a bigger budget...

Yeah, that was a bit much.

It's like the show doesn't ever want to go full blown action at times. It would have been dope if they focused more on the battle instead of having all the dialogue, but this show loves setting up shyt and planting cerebral seeds in just about every scene.

So we gonna pretend like Brienne of Tarth wouldn't get rammed? Like 98% wouldn't climb the bish like a redwood tree?

Nope couldn't do it.
.

In the preview, young Joffrey was trying to give him props for the victory though - hopefully that does not mean Tyrion died.
Nah that's Tywin he's declaring savior of the city.

I'm wondering about the costs of CGI work, anyway. Realistically, how much could it cost them to hire a few guys to do some zoomed-out battles? At least to give a better sense of scale. You have people on youtube even doing some crazy stuff, presumably for free in their spare time, who'd probably kill to get some work on a major series.

The budget is around 58 million. It was around 49 million for season 1. They got an extra 15% (which comes out to around 9 million) most which went to that epic shyt we saw last night. So y'all can quit bytching about HBO being stingy with the funds. This is the highest budget on tv right now.
In a new article in Entertainment Weekly, David Benioff, co-creator of Game of Thrones, the television series that launched George R.R. Martin and his A Song of Ice and Fire novels into super-stardom, confirmed that he and D.B. Weiss, the show’s other co-creator, were able to successfully convince HBO to increase the budget of season two by 15%, or, roughly, $9,000,000, enough to fun and extra one-and-a-half shows.

So, where’d the money go? Sorry to say, but you’re not going to get 11.5 episodes this season. Instead, you’ll be left with one heck of a rendition of ‘The Battle of Blackwater,’ the raucous conflict that provides the climax for A Clash of Kings. Most of the new money was funnelled into raising the production value and length of that scenario.

Benioff:

“This is season is about a country at war,” says Benioff, who along with Weiss, successfully lobbied HBO for a 15 percent budget increase to stage the second season. “And we felt like if we didn’t see the most important battle of this entire war onscreen, we’re going to shortchange viewers.”
An Aside | Game of Thrones gets a $9,000,000 pay-raise ? A Dribble of Ink

Sansa for comeback player of the year....she was an insufferable c*nt in the first season...now she's playing the game to perfection (well, almost, why didn't she flee with the hound?? :sadcam:)

You already answered your own question...she's playing the game perfectly. She is actually one of the only characters in this episode in a win-win situation.

For now....she is still safe with the Lannisters. As long as Jamie is still a prisoner (He isn't, but everyone thinks he is) Joffrey/Cersei can't really fukk with her...they still need her as leverage. Besides, even if Joffrey is a punk bytch, she IS his fiance. The Lannister win doesn't change her situation much.

If Stannis had won...as she herself said, he probably wasn't going to fukk with her. Stannis doesn't want it with young Wolf Robb, and he probably doesn't even really give a fukk about being a "king". She probably would have been returned to Winterfell, assuming that Robb respected the iron throne and didn't try to keep up with this king of the North stuff. Regardless, I doubt she would have been raped and killed...Stannis too smart for that.

Leave with Hound.....this crazy ass nicca? Who knows what he would do to her, and if she was CAUGHT trying to leave, this might have forced the Lannisters to punish her, regardless of what it meant for Jamie.
