The episode did the best it could with what it had. I don't know why folks a bring movie expectations out of the series.

people will complain about anything. this series has been skipping battles due to budget reasons and when we finally get an epic episode focusing on king's landing nikkas say it wasn't good enough? fukkouttahere.

I know I dont see nikkas complaining about that episode....by far the best battle scene Ive ever seen on a TV show. Fukking epic all around. Best episode of GoT so far hell one of the best Ive seen on any TV show when you consider the scale of the whole thing.

I gotta say that Podrick Payne's heroic moment felt underwhelming compared to the books. Or maybe it's because I knew it was gonna happen.... Spear through the mouth was better than a push in a water though but Payne still got a body count before he saved Tyrion.
