Yes y’all sound miserable picking this show apart instead of enjoying the final season of what y’all say is the GOAT. See for me this show as a whole is about an 8 cause all the politicking in the earlier seasons bored me but I respect it and understand why they did it that way. These last seasons to me is the pay off for all the talking about acts of betrayal. I can’t see why y’all can’t respect all the good action we been getting lately.

To me this show ain’t get good until season 2 or 3 but you ain’t see me all up in the thread picking it apart. My point is just cause the faster pace isn’t for you that doesn’t mean the show fell off. Let’s be real There was no way they could pay off 8 years in 6 episodes especially without the source material. And for all we know what happens here maybe better than whatever they do in the books if we even get that last book

I don't understand this mind state when the writers of this show stalk IMDB and look up episode ratings:

So....yeah. You can disregard all that if you want, the people that created the show don't....so why should we?

If this was "How I Met Your Mother" then I could understand your logic. This is supposed to be a GOAT tier show, it's getting the appropriate amount of scrutiny given it's stature.

And there was no reason to be this critical that early in the series. Most fans hated the Dorne stuff 3 years ago ago, but nobody went in to this extent. Why? Because it wasn't the final season. If you can't see why now is the time, once and for all, to analyze the strengths and flaws of the series, I don't know what to tell you.

I am saying, 100% he's full of shyt. Because you can Google interviews, blog entries, social media quotes, etc. where he's passive aggressively criticized the show for botching and/or altering the source material. Literally, for years.

And, like I said, his own personal editor for his books said the same thing.

And all that was before they ran out of book material. So I'm not talking about him finishing the books specifically.

But the show is in it's final season, is a monster hit, and he has spin offs coming out. So what is he supposed to say? "Yeah, HBO fukked up my material....go watch the new series!"

But the writing has been trash and inconsitent for a couple years now and most of us have given it a pass up to now but now that it's the end and they're still fukking up even tho they had 2 years to do 6 episodes, people are like

That's the thing... They haven't loosely adapted according to him. According to him they've been more faithful than "99% of shows ever made".. that's what he said word for word

that's really not saying much, since most shows are loosely based on their source material. plus it's a number he pulled out his ass. it's not like he did a real statistical analysis to come up with "99%"

he's just saying that the show is more faithful than most shows. but none of that means we'll get the same ending in the books

No I criticize the flaws of the show just like I get jokes in and discuss the plot. If all you see is nikkas talking about what they don't like that's on you.

There are actually some good convos going in in here amongst nikkas that ain't seething at the idea of something they like being picked apart.

Sansa was gonna execute a random kid because their dead father didn't show up to help her they had to actually show her the person she was about to off to make her reconsider

this is the same westeros where you can roll around with a flayed man as your flag and actually be about that life but still get invited to all the parties dude was mad because he was killing his own people indiscriminately not because he used blackfire or whatever to kill opposing soldiers

Even if he was 100% healthy he was still getting killed by those heat seeking missiles that launch as if they've discovered gun powder and are strong enough to destroy ships.

Come on breh. There is no rhyme or reason to it, no foreshadowing that explains why Rhagael was easily dispatched but Drogon couldn't be. It's all because the plot demands it. Nothing else. Cersei could have ended the war and didn't because reasons.

Perhaps I don’t have high expectations for this season compared to others but I found episode 4 very entertaining. Some of the writing in this episode was hella shoddy though. Props especially to the actors and the music composer for putting in work this episode.

That said....

-Jon Snow still knows nothing . If he doesn’t want the throne, why in the hell does he decide to tell Sansa and Arya? Especially Sansa, who has beef with Dany? The most important thing Ned Stark did right (to shut the fukk up and keep a damn secret that has grave consequences), Jon can’t do it. He may be a good dude but damn, this dude is hella naive.

-Jaime leaving Brienne. He better be heading to King’s Landing to murk Cersei once and for all.

-Arya rejecting Gendry

-Tormund

-Arya and the Hound back on the road

-Bronn about that paper

-Sansa running her mouth and trying to be Littlefinger 2.0. Low key putting a target on Jon’s back, and causing a major rift within the Dany / Anti-Cersei forces. Wrong time for this, imho.

-Varys is scheming again

-Rhaegal got got

-Tyrion still trying to parley with Cersei. When will he finally realize that she simply doesn’t give a fukk?

-I was hella concerned about Dany going too far during her offensive on King’s Landing, but fukk it. She had the Dothraki, the Unsullied, 3 dragons, Dorne, Yara’s fleet, and Highgarden on her side only to lose a lot of that due to bad advice from her advisors and Jon convincing her that the Night King and the White Walkers are the immediate threat. And when she does send her troops North and plays a key role in the living defeating the white walkers, she gets no respect, no props, no gratitude. Instead, she has haters (Sansa), dudes now plotting treason (Varys), and Cersei having the freedom to be as ruthless as possible.

And now she lost another dragon and Missandai too?!

Neither of those dragons even reacted to the shots being fired being wounded had nothing to do with rhaegal dying

This is a thread dedicated to the discussion of the show

People are free to express themselves on a show we have all enjoyed for so long. The show being one of the GOATS does not mean we should not address the clear inconsistancies especially as the hype has been building for years.

I and many others have clearly explained our issues... its fine to do so, you dont have to be part of that discussion, you can just watch and go sit somewhere until the next episode airs

People passing off genuine critism as "moaning" or "negativity" is mind boggling to me, why not refute some of the points?

I am certain the majority of this thread is praise for the show, this episode had several holes in it and the thread reflects that.
