wasn't Dany (and Viserys) who he sent to Illyrio? That was his whole move, get her and her brother to safety and kept them stashed so they could return as the rightful king/queen. After she gained enough power in Essos, and upon shyt hitting the fan in KL, he bounced to go clique up with her. He's been trying to set her up for the takeover, not sure what else you expect him to be doing...especially when Qyburn took over his spy network in KL.

I already explained what I expected of him based on his past history, if he truly served the realm Cersei and her kids would’ve been out a long time ago.

Me and my brother was like: why wouldn't Dany and Drogon fly up behind them while Tyrion was distracting them at the front gate? Could have ended Cersei's whole crew without lighting up one hair on any of the dirtball citizens of King's Landing.

Having a contract with HBO doesn't stop him from saying the endings are gonna be different.

I'm gonna focus on this part because "he gave them the ending!" is in relation to the WW dying early as fukk. People are interpreting him giving them the ending as, he's gonna kill the WW off in a similar manner and Cersei will be primary antagonist after that. Given how loosely Weiss and Benioff adapt the source material, there's nothing to suggest that.

Far worst shows have fallen off worse than this and people continued to watch because they were still invested in seeing the story play out. It's silly as hell that any criticism of this season is met with "just stop watching".

She gave them a choice and they chose poorly.
Plus this was after Tyrion had already shown that his advice in battle against his brother and sister wasn't worth shyt.
Plus Papa Tarly had pledged allegiance to House Tyrell and made the heel turn by joining up with Cersei and helping Jamie sack Highgarden.
He wasn't some innocent civilian, he got what he deserved. Traitors get the death penalty.

It's traitors on every side in this war. That's a copout excuse.

How much land does Cersei control at this point. The map that i have seen on the internet has much of the territories controlled by Dany plus the North. Tyrion and Varys play this like Dany has to be accepted by Westeros when they show people reminding her she is a foreigner at all points. Even when she talks about her armies fighting for the North (kinda like colonial regiments during WW2 fighting for Britain and France against the Nazis while they were subjugated by those colonial powers). Now everyone is going on about innocents being killed in a show where people get the throne by conquering or just being in the right place at the right time, the show . The people know Cersei blew up the Sept, when Arya finds out about Jon from Hotpie he tells her that information , and yet not much recrimination. The only loss by Cersei due to her actions tend to be her family given that she lost all her children and Jamie. The directors had to whittle down Dany's massive advantage in numbers to make it a more compelling story which makes me wonder what Varys and Tyrion thought an army of Dothraki, Unsullied and 3 dragons plus the Martells and Iron Born would have done to Kings Landing had they attacked.

an overthrow doesn't happen overnight and when he left, his connects in KL were cut off.

his bet was always on dany/viserys...viserys was an idiot who got himself killed and dany was too young in the game when rob b died. he's been working with dany for a couple years now since he escaped KL and she's just now in position to take the throne (well was). not sure how you expected him to do more than help the person he bet on (until now). dany was his plan to help the realm, until the jon news broke - if anything, the show hasn't used him enough to show his hand in helping her in the past few seasons, but she was the plan.
