No you at the very LEAST need to watch seasons 6&7 to get the “scope” of why the characters you are watching matter and their place within the story. You can’t be thematically connected ANY character at this point without seeing at least of what they’ve been through. Every single main character left has been through their own personal hell, so you have to understand what drives them
