Non targaryans can ride dragons.

Its extremely rare for non-Valyrian blood people to ride dragons. Only a handful have accomplished it in hundreds of years, and even those people were rumored to have Valyrian blood. It should be a shock to Dany that someone other than a Targ (in her mind) could ride a dragon.

She shouldn’t have even suggested it because it’s so dangerous to attempt it, even for Targs, let alone non-Targs.

There was an entire subplot in the latest history book that GRRM wrote during the Targ civil war where they were searching for anyone that could ride one of their dragons to help in the war and the vast majority of them died trying. It would be a feat worthy of a celebration if Dany found someone that could ride. Instead it just happens like no big deal on a cute date.

I peeped out where the Umbers are from...The Great Hearth...which according to the map is just south of The Wall. You see the White Walkers go past the Wall and then thru the Great Hearth in the amazing new Opening Credits... That's gotta be where the Freefolk and the Nights Watch met up. Sansa asked for the Umber Army...she gonna get em . Hopefully the Walkers get delayed at that River since they don't do water. Next stop for them might be the Dreadfort. Then Winterfell most likely. 1 or 2 episodes til we see them do some trill shyt. Bran is pissing me off. fukking around waiting on Jamie when he should be lookin thru the tree and downloading ancient battle techniques that worked and coming up with strategies like a great general...looking up ways to stop them dead nikkas. He should be figuring out how they made Valyrian steel back in the day and teaching Gendry how to forge that shyt in great numbers. Like...I fukk with em but... WHAT THE fukk IS THAT nikka BRAN DOIN!!! Get to work.

Targaryans came from a brown skinned continent, they're natural islanders and seafaring people, they have Wyverns in Soroythos, could be any reason she could ride a dragon, still maintain most normal people can't do it

I liked this episode but they could have omitted the dragon riding scene. Jon riding the dragon should have been more impactful than that.
