Did cats expect them to jump into battles right out the gate? They couldn't skip over all those Winterfell reunions and meetings. IMO the only that could've been shortened was the dragon riding sequence but even that was to show Jon's Targ heritage since only Targaryens have rode dragons.

Exactly, it reminded me of a season 6 episode, and thats great. Last season really did feel rushed as hell, but now everyone is in basically the same area, so the episodes shouldnt have to feel rushed.
