There's a clear discrimination and bias against certain genres of games. Like 3 of the GOTY selections were 3rd person character action games. shyt's like the drama category at the Oscars.
They should instead take all the major genres, pick the best of that genre and then decide from there, and also let people vote. Game industry nikkas and journalists are disconnected from what actual gamers like.

Yeah, unfortunately fighting games take too much time to get that good in and are typically solely dependent upon your own skill on the sticks and absolutely nothing else (unlike most other competitve genres) for it to probably ever not be a niche genre.

The game awards has always kinda only focus on what's popular. But now it's basically drifting off from even that....
It's barely an award show, and being in the audience has to be kinda trash. A total of what 8 to 10 people got called up on stage?
He wants to be E3 so bad he about to become the very thing he hates times x5.
With E3 at least it's a hour and a half of games and some marketing then gameplay throughout the week potentially.
The game awards seem to have become a big AD space....
And Sony, Nintendo or MS not winning goty tells me no one coughed up enough collateral for the W

TGA cares, etcin a 3 hour and change show that spends a good chunk of that time running trailers for games that ain't coming any time soon or have nothing to show at all, they can make some time to actually show off what makes the noms and winners worth talking about
especially when continuing sales helps everyone more than prospective preorders
but its whatever
they stopped trying to be legit years ago and are more than content occupying space between ms/sony showcases and e3

the narrative on It Takes Two is actually kinda fukked up imo.... its a game that could've been just fine if they didn't try and insert some unnecessary subversive shyt that is gonna plainly jolt a lot of people out of a good wholesome time
gameplay wise its fun but i really got a hard time recommending it to people because of some bits
