The beef/tension right now between the two is absolutely real. But I personally don’t feel any way for Shannon because Shannon helped build Skip to what Skip is now. He’s play the TV/entertainment game and showed out for the cameras to help their show for years now.
It’s like going to work for Donald Trump in 2023 and then finally having enough of him. Ok? I’m suppose to feel empathy for you? You knew who Trump was. We’ve known who Skip is for over a decade now.
Now Shannon has every right to feel a type of way, I’m not saying he doesn’t. He absolutely can and should feel a way about Skip letting their personas carry over into sensitive topics. But again, Shannon played his part in building this monster.
And I can’t stress enough with how ruthless these TV execs and producers are. With even how serious and sad this Hamlin story is, executives (and Skip) get so deep into the game that even with how bad things appear to be between the hosts, they are loving the engagement and views it is getting them. Even with all the “outrage”.
Shannon can leave the show one day, folks will continue to cry about Skip like they have for years now and you know what will happen? They’ll find another host to banter with Skip daily, another reporter to mod the show so she can get her big break, fans and athletes will continue to watch daily or check social media for clips, engage with the show, and complain about Skip more. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Hell Brady will be with FOX soon and will be doing segments with Skip in a few years that everyone will be tuned into. All this drama and outrage means not shyt to anyone at the end of the day, they all gonna be richer and more prominent for it.
It will need a cac or two and preferably one that can talk basketball as well. NFL’s offseason is long as hell so gotta be able to talk other sports.
