Hobbs and Shaw had a better opening weekend than The Fast & The Furious, 2 Fast 2 furious and Tokyo Drift.

Tyrese's soul is gonna be burning real slow when this movie makes bank worldwide...it aint open in China yet. And he might become suicidal when the sequel gets announced.

I'd be willing to bet that voice was Ryan Reynolds. Especially when it was addressing Hobbs, it downright had his speech patterns, and at times with the pitching up/down sounded exactly like him, and then like him as Juggernaut.

but its obvious that its the strength of the collective and the brand that has been driving the box office for these movies. The Rock is a huge part of it
yeah, but obviously even with using the characters and slapping F&F presents on it, a looooot of people sat this one out who will still go watch F9 next year.

The headline was putting a negative spin on a non-negative situation. Hobbs and Shaw made $60 million while Tokyo Drift made $23 million and basically put the franchise in a coma for a few years until they got the original cast back together.
