That was a unique event that hadn't really been done before then. There's no way they reach those heights again. Also the longer this continues the more apparent to people that this really is an endless saga that gives no satisfying conclusions and ultimately goes nowhere. It's like WWF/WWE wrestling perpetually ongoing and at some point you get on then ride for a bit then get off. I haven't watched wrestling since the Undertaker was on that satanic angle and Stone Cold feuded with Vince McMahon. I look back on those days fondly but I haven't watched it since then and likely never will again.Wouldn't say dead, but def a drop in quality and would be suprised if they reach levels of Infinity Saga
Marvel is basically that but for movies. Like I said perpetually ongoing constantly introducing new characters and rotating characters in and out. Everything is about getting to the next teaser, panel, or post credit scene but ultimately its not about ever reaching any meaningful destination. I guess the real question is the constant influx of new fans going to be enough to make up for the outflow of fans that get tired of it.
From a creative standpoint we're reaching new lows where Marvel is now incorporating or acknowledging other movies canon that had nothing to do with theirs in their own for cheap pops of playing on nostalgia and to draw curiosity. The way they milked that with the last Spider-Man film was kinda sad in a way. I mean it worked in that it got me to watch but once you pull stunts like that what's left? How do you top it?
