Hardware Limitation is a hardware limitation is correct. The PS4 doesn't have the hardware and/or software to do what the XB1 can do next year. Just like the XB1 doesn't have the hardware and/or software to do what the PS4 is doing in 2013-April 2014

How do features enabled by the cloud get scaled down when you lose internet?


Also this game is a lot of fun. It was a little so so killin level 1 cannon fodder. But the boss fights. Waves of enemies. The hub. Smooth interface. I like this game so far.

Also this game is a lot of fun. It was a little so so killin level 1 cannon fodder. But the boss fights. Waves of enemies. The hub. Smooth interface. I like this game so far.

The problem with the way you are looking at it is you are looking for one extreme or the other
Direct X12, Tiled Resources will handle the "vastly improved" textures/etc aka what the graphics will look like
The Esram is in the xbox SOLELY TO MAKE THE CLOUD WORK in a way it otherwise wouldn't be able to
So for example. A game like Crackdown. It will use the cloud to do calculations of physics you not even looking at
Or lets say you see a building falling and it needs additional computational power to render it flawlessly
It'll use your online connection in the same way a cellphone would use GPS

THIS IS WHY MICROSOFT WANTED ALL SYSTEMS TO BE ALWAYS ONLINE/CONNECTED

Then they could have went HAM on games. But guess what happened? Sony gamers make up NSA conspiracies and now the rate and speed at which these types of games can come to life has been slowed up :damn:
So in Crackdown's case. Maybe the system can handle single player destruction. While online could have 16players all destroying the city at the same time.
That is the idea, and they haven't been secretive about any of it so I never understand why one group of gamers play dumb :smugdraper: (not saying you are)

I dont believe its going to make some drastic improvement doubling its power.

I do believe it exists and is being used though. Was just wondering if the benefits are so great then it must be a large loss when you don't have internet. And if so would the physics or graphics drop in quality with loss of internet?

Im basically saying that they cant rely on that very much for single player anyway.
