lol we all know Thorn, Gjallarhorn, and Fatebringer are the interchangeable top 3. pretty sure The Last Word has the fastest ttk in the game for pvp and Red Death is great for pvp and pve
you really think its better than Fatebringer and Gjallarhorn in pve, Thorn and TLW for pvp, and more well rounded than Red Death?

im pretty sure he's talking about PVP, not pve... no exotic primary is really useful at all in PVE.. because it has no elemental...
i would say hawkmoon is definitely better than red death... and i would put it on an even playing field with last word...because TLW has a range drop off which is big for gametypes like trials...
but overall, thorn is just the best pvp weapon.
It feels so good out gunning a Thorn user with that Hawkmoon. I tend to always say, "Hawkmoon bytch" when I drop somebody who's using that Thorn.
Haven't used Thorn in a while though. Went flawless twice over the weekend and didn't bring it out once. Was just using Hawkmoon and Red Death.
hopped on when the servers came back online, rolled my Ill Will once and got the mini Hawkmoon roll I been looking for. Final Round, Braced Frame (higher stability, lowers shots to 5), and Luck in the Chamber
i got final round, the perk that increases reload, and small bore increasing my range and stability....that gun is fnna be a monster lol...

Thorn is preferred for stuff like Trials because of team focus fire. But honestly, if you're getting hit from multiple shots you're going to die anyway, no matter what gun is being used.
That Hawkmoon can make Thorn users fall back because of that Luck in the Chamber shot. They'll be dead before they can take cover again to get off another round. Couple that with the right nades, and the Hawkmoon is dirty. The Thorn is more annoying to deal with, but I've just started holding cover a lot more when I know a guy is zoning with that gun, especially if I know he has nades to toss at me.
Thorn is good because it keeps the shield down for the duration of poison. Hawkmoon is just a monster. 13 shots so it's easy to take down a hallway of enemies. Thorn, last word, Hawkmoon I get the same amount of kills with each game.

I think alot of it is preference... hawkmoon is a beast... but if we look at the numbers... thorn is much more successful and clearly the strongest pvp weapon. This spreadsheet is from someone on reddit, who compiled the weapons used in 5000 trials of osiris games by the winning players to get kills, speaks for itself;
The numbers lie because it's much easier to get Thorn than Hawkmoon. Hopscotch Pilgrim not on that list and it's probably the best gun in game for pvp.

within the first 3 engrams from Xur I got Celestial Nighthawk, and the Ram got all the helms now. just need Bones of Eao
