Don't know if you're the reading type, but Halo has a novel series that I really liked. Great backstories on Sgt. Johnson, Chief, and other Spartans that the games don't really feature. They also got a Halo Reach book and it goes entirely different from the story in the game.

i would love to get more stories from different character in the halo universe(like reach, osdt), that last mission on reach when u fighting waves and waves and u see the planted buring up is just
