remember in halo 2 when everyone and their grandmothers were playing 24/7....and I mean 24/7....because of a dope rank system? you don't need unlocks and heavy customization that may potentially break the gameplay to keep ppl playing. You don't need to dumb your game down for the masses to keep ppl playing. Give us great gameplay and a great matchmaking/rank/league system and we are on it like white on rice. Reward players for winning, not for just playing the game for hrs upon hrs to fill up an exp bar.

that's essentially what COD, BF, Destiny, TitanFall and all these exp/loadout based games do....shyt is terrible. Like I said, I feel offended when a developer thinks that I should start with the best guns in a game...it's like really my man?...i'm too exdperienced for a tricycle.

Halo, Gears and Shadowrun are the most skill based shooters on console.....by light years. I bet nikkas forgot what having to earn shyt during a match felt like...nowadays when you spawn, push into a fight and get raped...you don't feel punished that bad...you don't feel like you have to adjust your decision making at all...just press start..go to loadouts and select a fukking sniper or some other powerful weapon, better armor and a mod to keep your aim steady...spawn back and get revenge easily on the person that killed you 20 secs. ago. I really really hate that shyt.
Uncharted 2 MP had players starting on equal footing and fighting for power weapons too. It must be why I preferred that to the abomination called UC3 MP.

It went from everyone starting with an Ak47, a pistol and 2 hand grenades to UC3 having nikkas spawning with this AR that had a super sonic ROF and easy ass blind fire or AK's with attachments, burst rifles, kickbacks, level based perks :gag:.

:troll: It was fun though.

It did reach numbers, it didn't sell like halo 3, and a lot of people wanted it, the same people that told them on they forums to not codify the game and they still did, and warned them if they did that the game would die in months and it did, adding exp is so not halo and ruins what the game was loved for balance, skill and being ranked against similar players, winning to rank up

and you know what they said in regard to halo 5..."armor abilities are gone"...which for those who don't know were the halo 4 equivalent to perks in COD. 343 learned the hard way by watching the games population nosedive within months of release...but i'm glad they learned and I expect halo 5 to go back to the essence that was built with 1-3.

Casuals spend money and abandon your shyt after a month once the new cod comes out, hard core spend money and play your shyt for years, bye dlc and keep your game active

Halo and gears games online system died out cause of catering to noobs and the likes, people played halo 3 heavy for years

People played gears 1 & 2(thru all the lag) heavy for years

Once they tried to cater to casuals they online stopped having wheels, halo no more ranking system, no winning to rank up, perks, spawn wit different guns.....gears killed the ranking system and added exp so that everybody could rank up, added in a noob shotgun and basically killed the games most popular battle gnasher v gnashed, added in a bunch of different guns that threw off the balance of the game

And once they started to cater to noob they both sold less

the key thing you said is they spend money...that's what the devs are in this for....yea, hardcore fans might play your shyt for years and keep your game active, but they don't typically spend money like casuals...cause casuals buy dlc too....

so, the games being made by different devs, didn't play a part in the sales? it was all cause of the lack of ranking, exp, different guns, etc.?...lol come on man....those things might have played a part, but not as much as different devs....

all the things yall complaining about, i understand and get it...i just dont agree cause to me, it aint that serious....i play, i adjust, i continue playing....most games have decent match making, so you're playing against people on your skill level most the time...the perks, exp, etc. don't usually play that much into it cause it boils down to how you use what you got....all that 'balance' some gamers shout for is cause they not dominating like they did before, so 'something must be wrong'......what it sounds like is yall want everyone to have the shyt and be the same, but do you know how many people devs would turn off if they did that?...people want variety, not the same shyt...they also don't want a bunch of different things that behave the same....

speaking about destiny: the fact they don't let you access the mp until you reach a certain level is great...that means players will have a chance to get some experience with the game while gaining gear, so they not gonna be completely new and get murdered.....

I played UC2 so I know what you mean...you had to earn those other weapons via pickup during a match....

All these exp games have one thing in common, they turn into a fukk the win, all I care for is my stats game

And they need to understand they cater to casuals who always leave the game and go back to cod, but if they build the game around the hardcore the casuals will still bye it, and the hardcore would keep it alive cause they love it

The same reason halo 3 stay top 5 for like 4 years, cater to noobs and when they leave like they always do have no hardcore to fall back on
This poster on Neogaf broke down why Halo 4 seemed to fall off faster than Halo 3 and Reach.

And I'm happy halo and gears is being made by different Dev teams, and I hope they listen to there community and build the games around the ideas of those who stayed wit them all that time,

Bungie used Reach to test new gameplay features for Destiny. fukk em....I thank em for the first 3 games (especially CE) but they can kick rocks..

the exp loadout/perk system
the jetpack
sprint

and 343 has been paying attention to the community. The forum that I go to for my Halo discussions and info helped create the "turbo" changes in Halo 4. The community were the cause of the BR going back to a 4 shot kill, the red X coming back above dead bodies. They also hired pro gamers from that same community to help shape halo 5. The guy that does the weekly updates on www.halowaypoint.com (343's website) was a former coach for a professional halo team. Bungie NEVER accepted the competitive community like 343 has done over the past year so I expect big things.

it's where all the competitive halo players reside...including the pros. 343 employees (lead designer and other guys) post on there from time to time as well. The website has been becoming a lot more popular, I saw ign and other gaming sites acknowledging it for some halo related news. there's also sections for other games as well.

You can still add all of those things, just don't make them affect the gameplay too much. Stuff like weapon skins and new attire is dope to me...but when these things affect how the game plays....I can't rock with it. Gears has weapon skins and outfits players can unlock after doing specific stuff in the game over a period of time, none of which affects the gameplay. We arent playing league of legends or shyt similar where items you purchase make the gameplay better, these are shooters where thumbless players can rape you if they play for 20 hrs str8 to beat missions and acquire new weapons and perks...shyt is disgusting

imagine the NBA my nikka...imagine if your team...the pacers played against another team with a hoop that moves around every 30 secs because that team won 15 more games than the pacers or they had the money to buy such equipment. How would you feel?
I understand what you are saying, I just don't see developers going back to that shyt,

It's the WoW effect
