Marty could work. If he just updated the gimmick and quit fukkin up he'd have been fine. The whole "Marty Jannety of the team" insinuates he wasn't shyt which was not true. He should've went grunge. Joined Raven's Flock or something
I don't think it necessarily means that. I think it's just people playing guessing games with new tag teams on which member of the team won't have a great deal of success when going solo.

Anybody that actually watched the Rockers knows that Marty was the better wrestler within the confines of the group. He lowkey carried Shawn back them

The doc was acting like WCW were about to strap the rocket to him before he fukked up again....he was a straight up jobber in WCW :why:

They even gave him the old Hollywood Blondes theme as a cheapshot because Austin was crushing the buildings at the time :heh:

Marty is a tragic case because the dude can legit go, but he always got in his own way. It's crazy how many chances he got, but always found a way to screw up. Man, what this show taught us that pre-born-again Christian HBK was a menace.

I felt this series showed that Heyman aint shyt, Vince is just awful, Flair is a scumbag, and HBK was a menace. I don't think there has been anything positive said about those guys throughout the series.

It's called the Dark Side of the Ring, for a reason. One thing the show is doing right is bringing light to those who deserve it and shedding light on those for what they truly are, even if their fans will always defend them.

For sure, just an observation about those guys mentioned 😅

My issue with the Marty issue is the portrayal of HBK and Marty's relationship with Vince. Yes Vince obviously preferred HBK and he was correct in thinking that. But Vince obviously had a soft spot for Marty which was evident by the fact that post breakup he brought Marty back 3 or 4 times despite being a lifetime fukk up.

How did it show that Heyman wasn’t shyt? I have seen all of the episodes but don’t remember seeing him shed in that light.

I was expecting Shawn heat in the Marty episode but he actually bigged him up which was a surprise

Honestly this episode should've been a two parter. It should've went more in-depth on how big The Rockers got, broke down all the different times Jannety got hired and fired.

I also would've liked to see more of the story behind Shawn going solo. There were two different versions. Shawn's version was that they were at a commercial shoot and pissed off that they were getting paid less than the other performers there. Marty said he'd call and handle it and asked Shawn to back him. Shawn says he thought Marty was going to call and try to get them more money but instead Marty called in and gave the Rockers notice. Marty says Shawn knew that he was going to threaten to quit.

Vince called Shawn saying he's sorry to see him them leave and how Shawn is ready to have a singles career. Shawn then talks to Marty who says that they have offers from WCW and wants Shawn to still have his back. Shawn says he called WCW and could only get an offer for about half of what they were already making and that Marty later admitted he never had any convos with WCW. So that's when Shawn contacts Vince again and decides he wants to go solo. Marty claims that Shawn threw him under the bus to Vince for the promise of a push and took away any momentum he had for his own contract.
