- Abrams started out as a businessman in California, owning a chain of plus-size clothing stores for women called I'm a Big Girl Now

- Wrestling Observer Newsletter voted him Worst Television Announcer of 1990. Prior to the award, Abrams had used a jobber on television by the name of Little Davey Meltzer, a very obvious jab at the newsletter's editor and publisher Dave Meltzer

Abrams died in July 1996 in New York City. Before his death, while high on cocaine, Abrams was found naked and covered in a "vaseline" type substance, destroying furniture with a baseball bat in his New York office. He was in the company of prostitutes at the time. Not long afterwards, he died while in police custody, of a heart attack. He had cocaine stuck all over his body when he died.He was laid to rest in New York
