Easy solution is go to a bike trail. Don’t have to worry about a$$hole drivers.

“Right now, the bike infrastructure in Los Angeles is woefully inadequate,” Kaufman said. “We’re not doing a systemwide approach, so you end up with these bike lanes that just end. They’re bike lanes to nowhere.”

The combined bike+river logistics makes it possible to replace 150 vans with ONE boat and 15 trailer bikes. 122 tons per boat. 92% CO2 in ! A bike goes back to the hive every 8 minutes...

edit:
it's called a BicyLift bike trailer:ld:

Almost bought a new bicycle yesterday lol.

Managed to talk myself off the cliff, but lately I've realized after a few longer rides that my gear shifting issues are still there and the chain pops off of the ring occasionally. I now get that the last mechanic didn't charge me because he knew he didn't quite fix the issue lol. Crazy how drama-free my last bike was compared to my last two experiences.

I'm 0/2 with professional help, and the first mechanic suggested it will be hard AF to get a 1x8 drivetrain replacement in the current biking climate. Even still, if/when I can get the parts, once I include installation, it will cost +$200 from the sound of things. Meanwhile, BikesDirect has a basic road bike for $299 + taxes. I live in a studio apartment so I don't really have room for two bikes unless I use at least one vertical bike rack maybe? OTOH, cycling is both a form of relaxation and transportation, so I don't really need to be overly frugal in this area of my life unnecessarily.

I've been watching his videos for a few months now. His content is really good and he makes strong arguments.
Sometimes I do get annoyed with how much he criticizes the rest of the world and praises Holland because he moved there.

But objectively speaking, I agree with him on a lot.

to be fair their transportation infrastructure appears to be top notch.. they got trams, bike highways that can be used by wheelchair bound individuals, trains, buses and walkable communities ala mixed housing.

more countries need to be bold enough to experiment with infrastructure like they have.

Oh I agree.

He's highlighted this Strong Towns organization that appears to be working on that. I don't know how much influence they are having but hopefully cities and towns re-think and re-plan how they are constructed.

I know people will argue that people will never give up their cars. But ...the short answer is Americans are dumb. I don't have the energy to explain all the reasons why
