Plans of four G20 states are threat to global climate pledge, warn scientists
"A key group of leading G20 nations is committed to climate targets that would lead to disastrous global warming, scientists have warned. They say China, Russia, Brazil and Australia all have energy policies associated with 5C rises in atmospheric temperatures, a heating hike that would bring devastation to much of the planet."
For anyone wondering 5C would basically mean human exinction
IMO I doubt we'll ever allow the planet to warm to 5C. Once we hit 2C the disasters be so catastrophic that world governments will be desperate to limit warming. But its a shame that it even has to get to this point.

is the damage too far gone now to stop clime change from getting worse every year?
seems like at this point there's no turning back and with the human population growing and countries becoming more industrial, we're going to need more land for cattle, fish for more seafood, use more water and produce more CO2.

1.5C is really bad its just the richer nations will be spared for the most part.Poor countries basically descend into chaos. 2C means everybody is fukked. 2C means collapse of our civilization. Food shortages, water shortages, coastal cities being flooded, historical storms happening more and more common etc. Basically we have to do whatever it takes from reaching 2C. Once we hit that level governments will be going to war with each other for food and water.
