The Bay has become extremely gentrified. Even Oakland is cac'd the fukk out now![]()
Only part of the East that has Cacs is by Lake Merritt and the Hills. North Oakland always had cacs because it's next to Berkeley. West Oakland has some but it's still majority nikkas. I haven't been to the West in a couple years though so I wouldn't know what it's like today. I try to stay away from the west as much as I can.
The West, North and now the East is getting it. I'm lying?

I refuse to believe this. Even though Bishop O' Dowd and the hills is right up the street on 98th I still don't see that happening. I never had a white neighbor when I lived in the town. I never seen a white guy casually walking down my street unless he was selling something. Deep East Oakland will never become gentrified. Too many fiends, too many nikkas. They have no where else to go. The fiends there can't afford to relocate to Antioch. The Lake and the hills have always been white. The West is CAC'd out, check my edit above. San Francisco is too expensive and trendy now so they're all moving this way. White people love the taco trucks in Fruitvale and they're starting to branch out further. Plenty of them in Maxwell Park now too. Like I said in a previous post, I'm seeing white techies riding their bikes down Bancroft in the 50's and have even seen a seemingly well off white chick in the 90's riding her bike down Sunnyside.I'm not saying it's void of color but the racial and financial makeup is changing very quickly everywhere. It still might not be pretty at night but you're either blind, lying or out of touch if you say the demographic isn't getting whiter everywhere.

There's no section of east Oakland that is majority white besides the hills which isn't really considered Oakland. They're driving nikkas away from the Lake at a much faster rate but that's it. Cacs haven't taken over the Dubs, The 30's, 40's, 50's etc. Some places can't be gentrified.A
It's last on the list and it will take longer than everywhere else but it will happen. I concede that it will never be totally gentrified but the white presence will be substantial. In a couple years there will be at least a couple of cafes dotting E14th between High st and San Leandro, and you know cafes are like batsignals to hipsters that it's time to setup shop.
Don't believe me?..
Eastmont was just sold for 54.5 million. I'm going to reopen T's Wauzi and only sell Macklemore cd's and make a killing!

Section 8 will pay for that. Not no cacs. You know cacs not moving to the 60's nor the 80's. Maybe if those spots was up the 82nd hill by King Estates. But on the flatlands? Never.4th newest posting on Craigslist is a 950sq ft house on 86th and Bancroft going for $2,000/mo..

When I see a cac walking down 85th and E-14 I'll be the first to say you're right.Keep denying it but people are getting priced out. The one I posted with the picture specifically says no section 8. And I have mentioned several times that I'm seeing cacs riding bikes in these neighborhoods.
The movement of middle-class people into low-income neighborhoods is profoundly and rapidly reshaping the urban core of the Bay Area, from San Francisco's Mission District to the farthest reaches of East Oakland, according to a sweeping report released Tuesday....
Kate Phillips, a real estate agent who specializes in Maxwell Park, an East Oakland neighborhood near Mills College, said open houses these days are packed with 100 people or more, and most homes receive multiple offers. The threat of crime is outweighed by the relatively low prices, good weather and proximity to parks and cultural amenities, she said..... (Maxwell Park may as well be the springboard into the 60's and beyond)
"It's true, I'm beginning to see white people in (deep East Oakland). ... The only reason it hasn't happened sooner is because we have six shootings a day around here," she said. "The question is not whether this change is good or bad. It's how do we find a balance, and how do we start the conversation?"
