My usual warm up was something like:
200 jumping jacks
250 situps
Pushup to failure until you hit 50, so if my first rep stops at say 36, the second I get myself together I gotta keep going til I hit 50. No long rests, that's soft.
250 shoulder rotations, I usually do 125 going clockwise and counterclockwise
15 minutes of the bike
15 minutes of jogging around the gym/outside or running on the treadmill, I fukkin hate treadmills.
Then the actual work:
5 rounds of jump rope
5 rounds of shadow boxing
3-5 rounds of the double end bag
3-5 rounds of the speed bag
10 rounds of the heavy bag
I wasn't on pullups back then so I ain't do them but you want to add those and burpees as well, I was walking in that gym weak as fukk and came out with some semblance of strength without even half a year under my belt.
But yeah, the order of that shyt is intentional. At the gym I went to(Sugar Ray Leonard's) you couldn't fukk with none of the equipment until you did the warmup. The idea is to build your stamina so you can handle the training and ultimately the ring itself. By getting all of that work done you've already handle a big part of the conditioning, everything else is about footwork, fundamentals, and constant movement. I wasn't fat, I was more like one of those skinny fat people. Now I'm a lot leaner with a much lower body fat % and with a fast metabolism all I gotta do is bulk and I'll be straight. Anybody in here fukk with it if your interested it's fun as hell and a great way to get in shape. I'll add other specialized exercises later, nikkaz got me hype to go shadowbox right quick.
