I'm saying theoretically in any situation for anyone..its valid to try and avoid panicking someone else. Whether its your kid, a friend etc. Panic on a wide scale would have been bad. Back in 2016 the governorship for was in play in NC and FL. The logic being that a top down ballot initiative in those states could carry both the president and control over state government. The latter being extremely important to voting rights and would likely solidly those places at light blue states or purple states at worst.

Should she have campaigned better in the midwest, Yes. But saying dems should write off two of the more populous states than Obama carried is nonsense.
