im not sure i see any way that momentum shifts back towards the republicans and trump :yeshrug: all they've got is pumping the stock market with fake money, and most people dont own stocks. this corona/economic news about reopening is

trump maybe pulls it out with a reopened economy, but if we're all wearing masks in october this clown is finished.

I remember telling you last week that the economy isn't going to recover by election day. As long as we have to deal with coronavirus the economy is fukked! When it's all said & done the economy is going to be in bad shape due to a lot of businesses closing shop behind the virus.

No chance. Schumer became leader in 2017 when Harry Reid retired.

Pelosi is staying on as the Dem leader in the House through the 2022 midterms. Which means she'll be Speaker in 2021 and 2022 since the Dems are going to keep the House and maybe even increase the majority by a bit this year.
How comfortable are you with Schumer in that high-profile position considering the Senate will have to navigate through the mess being left behind by Trump and SELL to the public some of the massive spending that's going to be necessary over the next few years? I have no confidence in him being able to SELL anything to the public, even popular ideas. Schumer has no redeemable qualities other than fundraising. :francis:

Not comfortable at all. He's going to fukk it up probably. The main thing is the filibuster. If he gets rid of that shid, then all those bills the House passed can finally get through along with the other priorities.

And his leadership team... who supports getting rid of the filibuster? Only Elizabeth Warren outwardly. :snoop: I guess Tammy Baldwin has been saying things on reform too. Not even Bernie is full throated to getting rid of that shid.

What 9 GOP Campaign Consultants Really Think About Republicans' Chances in November

:russ:

i have to say, watching these sociopaths and monsters on the right have to watch the Dems take the House, Senate and White House behind their support of Donald Trump might be the most satisfying thing ive ever seen in my life. no one in the history of the world has deserved anything more than that circumstance

  • “I told very high ranking people in the Trump Administration that it hasn’t been like this since October of 06” – when President Bush’s numbers were tanking over fallout from the Iraq War, Katrina, and the Mark Foley scandal.
But in 2006, Republican candidates could strategically distance themselves from an unpopular president without facing a mutiny within the ranks. That won’t work in 2020, as — though Trump’s numbers are plummeting with some demos — they are solidifying or improving among his core support demographic. Which makes running afoul of Trump, fatal, in the eyes of these strategists.

That's the issue, even removing the filibuster will have to be sold to the public. I've never got the sense that Schumer has a stronghold on his caucus. I can see Manchin already on Fox News talking about how he disagrees with the move. Others, like c00ns and newcomers Hickenlooper and Bullock will not get on board with it either. My only hope is that a resounding victory in Nov. (52+ Senate seats, more House seats, 320+ EV's) will make these fossils realize they have a mandate to lead aggressively.

It's probably already fallen off and cliff and we don't even know it. There have been some indications already: The Tulsa Rally & 4th of July at the White House. Then you got Trump doubling-down on racist bullshyt on the daily. You add the on-going crisis people are tired. I've been watching CNN & MSNBC along with other programs and they all keep saying that he hasn't been able to increase his base. Which I believe is true.

As a high school student in Queens, Ms. Trump writes, Donald Trump paid someone to take a precollegiate test, the SAT, on his behalf. The high score the proxy earned for him, Ms. Trump adds, helped the young Mr. Trump to later gain admittance as an undergraduate to the University of Pennsylvania’s prestigious Wharton business school.
